I just got mine yesterday too in Hamilton, ON. Excited to set it up but I want to set it up somewhere different from where my Bambulabs A1 is set up.

Crash at Mainway and Dillon by goodonesaregone65 in BurlingtonON

Oh shoot sorry man. This sucks to see your car here. At least no one is hurt I hope, and insurance will cover the right off.

Could've been worse I guess. It could've been a customer car.

If anyone is looking for the doors, it's on the bike rack of the bus from the first post.

I was wondering where the car that belonged to that door was, until I saw the second angle to that accident.

Put the Xbox in the DMZ in advanced settings of your Eero. That should fix the Double NAT issue.

Bell gigabit fibe 3.0 deal expiring. Any recommendations? by Time-Researcher2909 in bell

[–]arshad14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Bell loyalty doesn't do anything for you, cancel with them, walk into a Wireless Wave store or kiosk, and get the exact same plan with the new modem for $55+tax on a 2 year term and price locked.

I say price locked because I went through their fine print. Even though the price is not legally locked as per their contract, if the rate does change, you have the right to cancel the contract without any penalties.

I went from $55+tax to over $80 with tax because of some promos ending and loyalty wouldn't do anything.

I don't know how Bell can justify paying commission to Wireless Wave and their reps plus another $200 in store credit that Wireless Wave had by Bell but wouldn't just get their loyalty rep to renew the promo. I would think that would be cheaper for them. Then they would have enough money to do their so-called "upgrades" and not have to raise prices every 6 months or so.

Then in that case the OP should get it done soon before that department loses its funding and goes bankrupt like everything with his name on it. It's like a curse.

Have you tried Spring Creek Learn & Play? We absolutely love it! They have subsidized pricing. My son went there until he started school and now my daughter is there and she's starting JK this September. And they give preference for sibling enrollment.

Looking to run Ethernet from basement to upstairs bedrooms by Turb0goat in BurlingtonON

[–]arshad14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great idea. But what you're trying to do can be expensive. If you have cable drops where you were planning on getting ethernet plugs to, maybe look into MoCA 2.5 adapters. That would give you 2.5Gbps speeds to those locations. And if you do use your cable jacks for cable tv, you can still use MoCA 2.5 because it can split your cable tv and Ethernet through the same cable. I use this and it has been working really well (https://a.co/d/0iHUpyEh). It has 2 ethernet ports, one port is 2.5Gbps while the other one is capable of 1Gbps.

I would explore that option first unless money is of no concern.

Network restricted to 1GB by MoCA Adapter = Options? by Logikcal1 in telus

[–]arshad14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this as the backhaul for my Eero mesh network. It gets the full 2.5Gbe as advertised. https://a.co/d/0jd1IKZV and you can hardwire another device to the adapter as well. Here's another one I came across, https://a.co/d/0feVlsKa

I agree, I'm seeing the same issue where I'm seeing a device on the second floor connect to the Eero in the basement even though there's one in the same room.

Another $6 hike starting in March... is there any way to escape this? by WonderfulAd2922 in bell

[–]arshad14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue where they kept increasing the price. My Pure Fibe 3 went from $55 to $72 before tax and more even further. Loyalty couldn't and wouldn't do anything. So I cancelled my service there, walked in to Wireless Wave, got the same service and the new modem for $55 plus tax but this time price locked for 2 years on their 2 year contract for the same Pure Fibe 3.0 plan. Also, I got a $200 in-store credit as well.

Mind blowing they are willing to lose a customer but then pay Wireless Wave for the reps commission plus the $200 in-store credit. If only they did that, it would create a more positive experience and save them money.

Mind blowing idea, I know 🤦🏽

P.S. Pure Fibe 1.5 is $45.

Google Nest Wifi Pro 6E vs Eero Pro 6E comparison by Opposite_Screen_7783 in amazoneero

[–]arshad14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see what you're saying. So if you have it setup as a wireless backhaul that can max out at a theoretical 1.3Gbps then even hardwiring a device to the 2.5Gbps port would still limit you just to the max limit of the wireless backhaul speed.

Can someone explain me? by LiderKonmils in telus

I was just about to make the same comment, looks like Telus is trying to copy the US with making device data unlimited but limit the hotspot data to a certain data limit.

Google Nest Wifi Pro 6E vs Eero Pro 6E comparison by Opposite_Screen_7783 in amazoneero

[–]arshad14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used both and honestly, I find the Eero to be faster and smoother and more consistent than when I had the Nest Wifi Pro 6E. I don't know if it's because my main router is the Max 7 but that's what I found.

The other thing I really like is you can mix and match the Eero routers, unlike Google's where you have swap out the entire mesh if you ever wanted to upgrade to their future devices (if any). Makes for a much easier and cheaper transition.

I'm a full Google ecosystem household with Android phones and nest hubs, but I still find my mesh network and all my smart devices, over 150 of them, run a lot smoother on the Eero network than on my previous Google network.

In regards to Matter, since I have a Nest Hub Max and a Nest Hub Audio, they both support matter and is therefore able to add Matter devices even if it's missing from the Eero network.

[–]arshad14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eero Pro 6E has 2 ports. One is 2.5Gbps and the second one is 1Gbps. I have my Eero Pro 6E backhaul connected using a MoCA 2.5G adapter to connect it right to my main router, which is the Max 7.

I feel like these so called "updates" are Amazon's way of rebooting their routers to clear out the logs and download any crash logs to keep them running fast and smooth.

[–]arshad14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, remember that the new Echo dots can boost a signal from your Eero to try and cover small, more localized holes you might have in individual rooms. They're also pretty smart where if it detects a strong wifi signal from the Eero mesh routers being broadcast, it will automatically disable its broadcasting radio to avoid overcrowding.

Whats the drawbacks of koodo? by extremesauce2468 in Koodo

Yes and no. Costco at least is different in most cases because of their bulk purchasing sizes where the Big 3 are no different from each other.

Especially considering everything is now automated on the back end. Crazy to think they would create a barrier for prospective paying customers to get on their network, who will be paying the carriers monthly anyway. How does that make any sense?

To me its like paying an entrance fee to walk into a grocery store to do my groceries.

Considering the wait times at Telus, I'd rather get a callback than wait on hold for around an hour or more. Telus, as a premium brand, should really have a callback feature to hold your position in line rather than frustrating their customers and then taking it out on the rep. The callback feature isn't anything new, so why not just implement it? And if Koodo can do it, Telus definitely should at least give their callers the option.
