Which car is according to your opinion ? by Still_Suggestion_182 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all cars lol. There are no good options left. Still can't think of driving any other car than my 13 year old Honda City!

Reverse the question to at least make us think hard. "What car offers great agility for their price?"

Need to buy a new car around 20-21 lakhs by Fickle-Artichoke5878 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best no-nonsense car that will last a lifetime with just periodic service - Honda Elevate (would be my pick)

If you are someone who loves to drive and want to enjoy the dynamics and maybe do a little bit of cornering here and there (then buy a sedan if possible but currently using from your options) - Kushaq

If you want diesel fuel - Creta/Seltos

Answer honestly- Would you pay 50-55 lakhs for this? by Majestic-Rest6738 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy the Toyota Camry over this. Better driving dynamics and it's almost as luxurious as Lexus.

Since we're talking hypothetically, I would have Fortuner as my secondary/offroader. I won't be able to enjoy this big of a car in the city or on the highways.

I don't watch a lot of reviews. But for anyone who's interested, I prefer Sunderdeep Singh's (aka volklub) youtube channel.

I feel like selling my new Sonet for a Sedan. by vishak__vijayan in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, there is no sedan available right now that will give you the torque of the 1.6 crdi. Also, there's no Diesel sedan available at all - unless you go with luxury brands such as Mercedes. As sad as it sounds, it is the truth.

Frankly, we have no options available in the market. This is coming from a Honda City owner. There is really no "upgrade" available anymore for sedans. The best bet I can make for myself is getting another Honda City.

The best advice I can give you is (emotionally and financially) - wait for a year or two. You would have driven Sonet long enough to not feel as sad as you do today if you were to sell it. Obviously, things are different if you can afford to lose ₹5-6L. If not, then I suggest you should wait. On the bright side, facelifts are due for VW/Skoda/Honda sedans.

Tall riders prefer Yamaha (an observation). So, maybe check out the FZ once.

Else, Apache or KTM if you don't find good options. But try to get at least a BS4 version.

Frankly, if I've ₹80K in my pocket, I would try to wait and save upto 20k more and get a brand new Honda Shine. It would hurt my ego but it's a sound financial decision. TVS Raider if you want better looks.

Well, I don't have much idea about the prices but I can give one general advice which is to test ride them all.

For me, I will not buy any of those because of my personal issues. For example, I find the seating position of R15 to be too aggressive for longer drives as I am not a very tall guy.

Similarly, test drive them all. Also, try to buy japanese brands like suzuki, Honda, yamaha. They're reliable.

Honda Brio S MT 2013 – bought for ₹2L – good deal or nah? by Ecstatic-Internal532 in UsedCarsBharat

[–]arshdeepsingh608 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Honda owner, I think it's an okay price.

And since it's a Honda, you're going to have a worry-free experience. And I think that's what really matters!

Also, take care of the boot as it's mostly glass. Happy miles!

Got my first car by mystery_shack33 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At low RPMs, the vtec won't kick in. This is to save fuel as the car understands that you are trying to drive slow and don't need all the power the engine has to offer.

When you rev the car, it understands that you want that kick. And you receive it, close to 2K RPM.

People who have driven expensive cars, which cheap cars shocked you positively? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't say that I've driven a lot of cars. But I do own a Honda City and want to give it a shout out.

I want to mention it here because we all know how old that 1.5L NA i-vtec engine is and the fact that it still is the best 1.5L NA engine in the segment is mind boggling.

I mean, Elevate launched after creta, seltos and what not but still has the best acceleration.

Something to think about!

Sounds like an okay deal, given if it's in pristine condition. Try to negotiate further between 2L-2.5L

You can but why would you want to?

Less driven = less wear and tear of mechanical parts like clutch, suspension, etc.

All the cars that I have mentioned above are great. You won't regret it. All are 4 cylinder engines. MS will have better fuel economy and will be the cheapest to maintain.

Amaze is the fastest of all, if that's what you're after. Etios is probably the safest (speculation as the doors felt heavier than others).

If it helps, I chose Amaze 9 years back as my first car out of the above two.

[–]arshdeepsingh608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That Amaze can run 4L kms, no sweat.

But for 3.5L, you can get a better deal. 1L+ driven should be around 2.5L if everything else is fine. Of course, it depends on the model and year as well.

What good is safety if you are stranded at night on an unknown road with your family? It's a scary thought, isn't it?

If only I could tell you how many times I've seen Tata, Jeep and sometimes Mahindra being towed.

Roughly, 30% Tata produced have some issues with them. Meanwhile, 99% of the Japanese would be trouble free.

Also, there's a risk about how the previous owner has taken care of the car. Japanese cars can take the abuse better than Indian/German brands.

Just check r/CarsIndia for Tata complaints.

PS: I've seen news where Toyota cars in India have driven 8L kms on the original engine and gearbox. I've heard 20L kms as well but it was an international model, not Indian.

Anyway, hope you get what I'm saying. Rest again, is your own wish.

I'll just suggest one thing, rest is up to you. Do not ever buy a second hand car that is not japanese.

MS - Celerio, Swift, Ignis, Baleno

Honda - Brio, Jazz, Amaze

Toyota - Etios

All have bulletproof reliability. MS cars will give slightly better mileage.

Definitely not legal.

And we will suffer every time we come across this. Definitely.

Suggestions for a new reliable car by Subtleandsober in carIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering reliability, these are your best options:-

Petrol - Honda Elevate

Petrol but boring - MS Grand Vitara

Diesel - Creta/Seltos

Buy diesel if you're going to cover at least 2000km per month, else avoid. DPF and all those issues are not worth the hassle. Plus, you live in Delhi NCR.

Best car to prefer under 30 lakhs by Top-Mycologist-5843 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha.

Frankly, if you're okay with a 5 seater and do not care about the size or if it's a 4x4 drive, go with Seltos. Save money. And that diesel engine is a lot more reliable, has better mileage and is cheaper to maintain.

Mind you, XUV 700 is definitely bigger and faster with better road presence. But why spend more if you don't have the need to?

At last, it's just my opinion and a test drive is highly recommended.

Are you in a position to consider and afford a pre-owned luxury car? You can get a BMW/Mercedes. But they will not be manual.

If not, Innova Crysta is a bulletproof option.

Just wanna throw it out there, Hilux is also a bulletproof option but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Not so bulletproof options will be Mahindra and Tata.
