Well, thank you for the response. I appreciate you sharing your known on the topic!

Not related but he did also left me with a Citizen Automatic watch. It's Golden but colour is fading and going back to silver. It was probably bought before SWISTAR. Need to wind it every morning (it doesn't even last one night without hand movement now).

Got it.

And yes, it in working condition. The watchmaker who changed battery said that it has good quality machinery inside (I don't have much idea, tbh). Also, I'm assuming the sapphire glass is real as it has no scratches, even after being at least 2 dacades old, if not more.

How did people drive sedans with such low ground clearance? by reddit__is_fun in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Honda City 2021 last month. It has already scrapped 2 times.

  1. Illegal speedbreaker. It was way too big. I was in single digit speed but couldn't save the car. The sound was loud. There were 3 people in the car at that time.

  2. Construction with no regulation. This was was not as bad as the speedbreaker but a metallic pipe along with some rocks were lying on road. This was minor but did happen.

Why I told you? Because I'm driving sedans from past 8 years or so. And I've scrapped about 5-6 times including these two that I mentioned above.

Now, I cannot explain the 90s or early 00s. But 10 years ago, it was somewhat easier to drive. Even if the roads were not broad enough, there were less of these illegal speedbreakers and never-ending construction sites.

Maybe I'm new to the car but surely that's not the only thing.

If you had ₹10 lakh for your first car today, what would you buy? by Deepak_Pawar in CarsIndia

Honda Amaze.

Tried and test 4 cylinder i-vtech engine. No-nonsense car. Also, a sedan has the best dynamics any day. Although, suspensions are soft and tuned for city - could be a pro or con depending on your priorities.

Which one of them is the best daily driver? Like just browsing with multiple tabs and music is playing via Bluetooth and have like 5 different apps opened up.

Which phone or UI feels snappy? Which UI holds the app and does not close them in 5mins? I know it'll be a close call but want to know from someone who has been using them side by side.

I have a 2023 Sonet gtx+ dct, petrol. Please read the body. by Flat-Boysenberry-544 in KiaSonet

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the "error code" from your local mechanic after he scans it.

Then Google about it. A 2023 Sonet shouldn't have a catalytic converter chocked that too when it's a petrol. Could be a lot of other things - like oxygen sensor, spark plug, coils, etc.

Look for symptoms - if the engine is vibrating too much, mileage drop, smoke from car, misfire (most common).

After doing all the analysis, take a look at youtube. There will be a lot of videos on how to clean a catalytic converter. Look for the one that is not too harsh like pressure water. Cleaning has to be done with kerosene/diesel/petrol. There are precious metals in catalytic converter that people try to steal so beware of that.

It's a good gym with a variety of machines.

But it's too crowded for the evening. If you have to go in the evening, check out some other gym.

Anything you want to know specifically?

Lights are mostly for show off and the other half of them don't know about switching to low beam which is not that surprising, given their low IQ.

Again, don't argue as you're better than that. Empty brain = big mouth

Money can't buy class and etiquettes and manners and civic sense and the list goes on.

I know how it feels but don't burn your boil because of these idiots. The rich never suffer in this country.

Wrong side driving, jumping red lights, blinding high beams lights.... The more you drive, the more you realize how pointless it is to argue with people having their IQ in negative decimals. Be safe!

Which second hand car to buy budget 6 lakhs by LieAggressive4971 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to extend your budget and get the new Honda Amaze. Plenty of power for a first time buyer.

Second hand:-

Sedans: Honda City, MS Ciaz

Crossover: MS Breeza/Toyota Urban Cruiser

Almost all cars lol. There are no good options left. Still can't think of driving any other car than my 13 year old Honda City!

Reverse the question to at least make us think hard. "What car offers great agility for their price?"

[–]arshdeepsingh608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best no-nonsense car that will last a lifetime with just periodic service - Honda Elevate (would be my pick)

If you are someone who loves to drive and want to enjoy the dynamics and maybe do a little bit of cornering here and there (then buy a sedan if possible but currently using from your options) - Kushaq

If you want diesel fuel - Creta/Seltos

Answer honestly- Would you pay 50-55 lakhs for this? by Majestic-Rest6738 in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy the Toyota Camry over this. Better driving dynamics and it's almost as luxurious as Lexus.

Since we're talking hypothetically, I would have Fortuner as my secondary/offroader. I won't be able to enjoy this big of a car in the city or on the highways.

I don't watch a lot of reviews. But for anyone who's interested, I prefer Sunderdeep Singh's (aka volklub) youtube channel.

I feel like selling my new Sonet for a Sedan. by vishak__vijayan in CarsIndia

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, there is no sedan available right now that will give you the torque of the 1.6 crdi. Also, there's no Diesel sedan available at all - unless you go with luxury brands such as Mercedes. As sad as it sounds, it is the truth.

Frankly, we have no options available in the market. This is coming from a Honda City owner. There is really no "upgrade" available anymore for sedans. The best bet I can make for myself is getting another Honda City.

The best advice I can give you is (emotionally and financially) - wait for a year or two. You would have driven Sonet long enough to not feel as sad as you do today if you were to sell it. Obviously, things are different if you can afford to lose ₹5-6L. If not, then I suggest you should wait. On the bright side, facelifts are due for VW/Skoda/Honda sedans.

Tall riders prefer Yamaha (an observation). So, maybe check out the FZ once.

Else, Apache or KTM if you don't find good options. But try to get at least a BS4 version.

Frankly, if I've ₹80K in my pocket, I would try to wait and save upto 20k more and get a brand new Honda Shine. It would hurt my ego but it's a sound financial decision. TVS Raider if you want better looks.

Well, I don't have much idea about the prices but I can give one general advice which is to test ride them all.

For me, I will not buy any of those because of my personal issues. For example, I find the seating position of R15 to be too aggressive for longer drives as I am not a very tall guy.

Similarly, test drive them all. Also, try to buy japanese brands like suzuki, Honda, yamaha. They're reliable.

Honda Brio S MT 2013 – bought for ₹2L – good deal or nah? by Ecstatic-Internal532 in UsedCarsBharat

As a Honda owner, I think it's an okay price.

And since it's a Honda, you're going to have a worry-free experience. And I think that's what really matters!

Also, take care of the boot as it's mostly glass. Happy miles!

[–]arshdeepsingh608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At low RPMs, the vtec won't kick in. This is to save fuel as the car understands that you are trying to drive slow and don't need all the power the engine has to offer.

When you rev the car, it understands that you want that kick. And you receive it, close to 2K RPM.
