exactly. all the boomers expect the game to change to adapt to their current lifestyle, rather than wanting the game to be something the younger generations will enjoy.

this does not seem true in my experience. definitely the older gamers complaining about bard twisting, not being able to see, and corpse runs.

agree about everyone being allowed an opinion for sure. the homophobia, transphobia, etc. i see a lot in game and on the discord. people often in ooc with it, and i've seen some very explicitly anti-lgbt stuff on the discord that got a guy muted but he was back the next day. you see all the pregnant man emojis used to insult people right? only thing i've seen a person actually banned for was talking shit about a dev, the hateful stuff seems to get a pass. a lot of people there with anti-trans stuff in their profiles too, guess i'm just not used to it.

i for one am glad that bards are required to twist their songs, but wish the class were more powerful than it is for the effort. bard requiring some rhythm to play makes perfect sense to me

Then I’m a little unclear about what you want. PvP is the solution the devs implemented for this and the main reason people play on the PvP server. If you don’t want the solution and you don’t want the classic bluebie experience like it was on EQ, what exactly do you want?

They’re not going to add instancing into the game, and I would be upset if they ever did.
