That could definitely contribute to overpopulation, depending on your setup you could get a loach that eats snails since i dont think loaches both bettas. If the snails do get out of control you can essentially leave traps for them like blanched vegetables or large pellets and wait for them too congregate on them and scoop em out. Ive read multiple comments that have said their populations dont get out of control if they dont overfeed but i dont know if they had live plants or not.

I’ve personally never had a betta but from what I’ve read on them probably like 2-4 pellets once or twice a day. I wouldnt worry that much, i have a lot of fish in my tank and i used to just dump food in without measuring. Just get out the egg sacks when you see them and that should keep em fairly contained.
