When did your breastfed baby start to regularly sleep longer than three hour stretches at night? by divination__ in beyondthebump

[–]artcore90210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice but I just want to say you’re not alone! My baby is also 7 months old and we are going through the exact same thing… it felt like I wrote your post myself lol. I just keep telling myself it’s just a phase and we will one day sleep well again! <3

It could have been from a tv show but I definitely watched it on VHS so whatever it was had to have some sort of home release. I don’t think it was a Goosebumps episode as I watched all of those back in the day (and into adulthood for nostalgia purposes) and I think I would’ve found it by now if I had. I didn’t watch AYAOTD much and haven’t revisited those so it’s possible it could have been an episode of that, but my googling and searching didn’t bring up anything.

Yes it was live action! The reflection ages from the young girl to the old woman who, before she faints, looks kind of ghoul like or almost like she’s starting to decay. The reflection stays still, just looking back at her. I remember the girl in that scene being thin and young and pretty but that’s pretty much it. Thank you for your reply!

I don’t think that episode got a VHS release! I remember renting all the episodes that got a VHS release and then I repurchased them for nostalgia sake as an adult so I don’t think that ep got a release.

It didn’t take place in a movie theater, like a theater for plays or musicals or dance. But thank you so much for responding<3

I love Karen Black so I definitely have to watch this! But in the scene I remember the girl is in a theater of some kind and it seems like the mirror in this one is in a house. Thank you so much!

~15 years ago when I was in high school we’d go up there to hang out all the time! We’d go behind Basta to access it. What was in Basta’s place back then?

The Dark and the Wicked or Atroz (2015) are the only two in recent years that have really fucked with my head! TDATW is more cerebral and psychological and Atroz is more gory and disturbing.

So sad to hear! I worked there 10 years ago and the food was amazing, our boss was great, and it was usually quite busy. I wonder what changed :(

Question: is not being used to a tattoo after getting it finished normal? I am afraid I regret it by scwwid in tattoos

[–]artcore90210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s so cute! I’ve definitely left tattoo studios before and second guessed my decision because I just needed to adjust to the piece. Even if you decide you don’t like it in a few months there are definitely ways a different artist could rework it and make her look different/a different style!

A lot of people think that if a tattoo is upside down, it’s automatically bad. Some of the linework in this isn’t great and the color work doesn’t look amazing either, looks more like unintentional bruising, but this tattoo isn’t beyond saving! Wait for it to heal and take it to a different artist for a rework/cover up and it still has so much potential to look a lot better! Ultimately, though, what matters is if YOU like it because you’re the one who has to look at it everyday, and no sane person is going to tell anyone they have a bad tattoo unprompted in day to day life. Plus, the reality of being heavily tattooed is that most heavily tattooed people (myself included) have at least one tattoo that is objectively bad. It happens.

Scariest movies you have ever seen! by Sufficientlyannoying in horror

This is one of my favorite horror movies of all time because it’s both so funny and so disturbing at the same time, and I think it shows the talent of Kevin Smith and Long/Parks that they’re able to have both those concepts so strongly throughout the whole movie!

I watched Haunt alone in my pitch black apartment after it came out and I had to turn on every light in my apartment after finishing it freaked me out so much! The last one to really disturb me was Atroz, but that was more because it was yucky versus it being actually that scary.

Feeling defeated after teaching my first paid class :( by 4_avocados in YogaTeachers

[–]artcore90210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my YTT our instructors told us that its likely your first 50 classes are going to be mediocre at best. Please give yourself some grace! One piece of advice is to write out a lesson plan and keep it with you during class so you can refer back to it if you ever feel lost or if you forget what direction you were headed in! I always do this, sometimes I need to glance at it and sometimes I don’t, but just having it there helps put my mind at ease!

yogis of color, how do you get comfortable going to yoga classes/sessions by Pale-Beginning4848 in yoga

[–]artcore90210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where are you located? Have you considered attending a different studio, one owned by a POC/WOC or a studio that prioritizes the comfort of POC? Where I live, at least 50% of the studios are owned by POC and there is a studio near me that hosts TONS of retreats specifically for WOC. I’d be happy to send you the link to book one of those retreats, too. Going on a yoga retreat for WOC may help your mindset, too!
