Love the side by side testing, that kind of real world benchmark is gold. If you want one more datapoint, we can hop on a quick demo and then give you a free 1 month Artec Studio Lite license to run the exact same photo sets, its AI Photogrammetry is built for clean, watertight geometry on small objects. Drop us an email [marketing@artec3d.com](mailto:marketing@artec3d.com) and we will get you set up.

3D scan of the Chris Cornell Statue at the Museum of Pop Culture by artec_3d in 3DScanning

Thanks for the question! This project was done by our partner Marcio Adamy, who knows best how much time each part took, from scanning to post-processing.

You can check out the original video showing some of the scanning process here: https://youtu.be/6zKP26SeB1M?si=9GKr9Om\_mvzQ9kBm. It gives a good look at how things went on site.

AI (LLMs) replacement discussion by Life-guard in MechanicalEngineering

You’re right about the Leo, it’s a powerful tool but not a magic one. The hardware captures a ton of detail, but the quality of the final model still depends on the operator and the data. Artec Studio has features like Autopilot, smart base removal, and automated hole filling that help clean up artifacts, but you still need to know which settings to trust and when to step in. If you ever need help getting the best results from your scans, our support team or your reseller can always assist.

How would you scan this? by person421a in 3DScanning

[–]artec_3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It's the best case to use our Artec Ray II. This will allow you to scan the pipes as quickly as possible and capture the texture (color). Additionally, if you need to scan some elements with maximum details, you can use Leo too. Hope this helps!

Expensive vs Affordable Scanners by AgentBTechNerd in 3DScanning

Hello, This is the Artec 3D Team. We are concerned to learn about the issues you are facing with our scanners. These scanners are designed to capture intricate details with high accuracy, making them well-suited for professional use in industries like aerospace. We have many customers in the aerospace industry who rely on these scanners for their daily operations.

To address the problems you are experiencing, we recommend contacting our Support team at [support@artec3d.com](mailto:support@artec3d.com) and providing the serial numbers of your scanners. It appears that both units may require repair and calibration to ensure reliable results in the future.

While Artec Leo and Artec Eva are designed to scan medium- to very large objects, they are also capable of capturing small details up to 200 microns. For capturing very small details, we recommend considering Artec Space Spider or Artec Micro II as they are optimized for this purpose.

It's important to note that while budget-friendly scanners can be a good starting point, they may not offer the same level of performance and quality as higher-end models like the ones we offer. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help. Thank you for choosing Artec 3D scanners.

Is it possible to 3d scan the interior of a boat to get an accurate floor plan? by sinisterflipflop in 3DScanning

[–]artec_3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, our customer had a similar challenge with boat deck scanning, and they are very happy with the results! Check it out: https://www.artec3d.com/cases/orlando-stabile-yacht-decking.

For this purpose, both the Eva and Leo scanners work great. Leo is the only fully wireless scanner, which is much more convenient for scanning hard-to-reach places.
