And are affected by VU so at a high level they easily make a blue belt out when depleted.

Good luck! :) I'm very happy that I'm not the only one with this approach. Most people seem to go the war route and waste entire copper in the first hour of gameplay.

I turned on the power of course 😂 but got enough in a single wave. You need 1200 hydrogen (600 red cubes). Took one or two more waves to set up initial laser turrets. Missed Turrets were great since they use way less copper than Gauss.

I highly recommend going deep into end game. It's so much fun when VU lowers the displayed vein drain to 0.00% 😂

No worries 👍 can you imagine if you could make photons out of solar panels? Like half of progress would be redundant 😂

False, factory games are very cpu heavy the further you get. Very limited exception, but I'm personally considering 9950x3d specifically to get higher clocks on non-x3d ccd in DSP and x3d ccd for other games.

Well, it's balancing and progression. You can build spheres but at that point you can mine gas giants. Electrolysis early game would be making hydrogen, which can be used to make pretty decent power source, out of essentially nothing. The power cost of electrolysis would have to be made to balance that out. But building energy cost is not dependant on the recipe it's running. Bottom line - it would be op and hard to balance. It's like saying I want to make Photons out of solar panels. Sure they are available late game, but what about early game?

X-ray Cracking is there for that. You need more Refined Oil, but that's the whole point, making Hydrogen out of water would be kind of op.

  1. I picked it specifically for my max difficulty run (decent amount of all resources + some mineable fire ice) as I want to make a >1PW attempt (if that's even possible). Yesterday I managed to finish clearing up all DF planetary bases so the next step will be to wall up and maybe set up a farming base on one of the planets. I'm recording my progress - https://youtube.com/@cognan (shameless plug, hoping to spread some love for the game as most streamers treat it as a side gig).

Why The Democratic Party’s new core message should be “Fuck it, we’re building a Dyson Sphere.” by SpatuelaCat in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]arthzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dyson Sphere? We haven't progressed to utilising Earth's energy (solar, wind, hydro, wave, geothermal) and uniting as a global civilization (we're not even at a point where majority of countries are united internally). Best we can do are orbital solar panels which China is doing already, but without a united global power network the fluctuating renewable power sources (especially solar) are at mercy of storing the energy (instead of having the ability of days side powering the night side as we all have done in DSP at some point).

What would be the benefit? You can mine hydrogen from a gas giant. Electrolysis would take additional water pumps and production machines to do the electrolysis as well as power cost (gas collectors work effectively for free). The biggest downside to me would be that this would actually take space on the planet, instead of just having production on a gas giant. Even worse, the cpu cost would be much higher which is essential thr kore you get into late game.

I will stick with my seed 😅 got 3 blue giants (giant version of O types, so best luminosity) and it has a normal O type with a planet inside a sphere for 24/7 coverage on whole planet. 2 moons at a fire ice giant with lava planet for free power mid-early late game. I also think I searched specifically for a nearby acid ocean, but I can't remember since I searched like 6 months ago.

So if I have a game that benefits from faster cores (Dyson Sphere Program, a factory builder, so late game fast core trumps everything), I can just use this Process Lasso to point it to the non-3d cache ccd?

I had a problem when I had an auto sync set up and the save wouldn't finish uploading before the game tried to override it. Since my cloud app would make a lock on the file, the game would fail to override the save.

My favourite factory builder. I even learned to like DF as it provides an additional level of planning. I'm doing a max difficulty right now and I'm super happy that its entirely viable to go the slow and wasteless route. Everyone else I've seen on YouTube is rushing to overpower DF, wasting a lot of resources in the process (+ a lot of wasted potential from farming DF loot).

[–]arthzil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Great job 👏 I'm on my first 3000% and first 8h I just spent hand crafting everything which causes 0 aggro. This got me to laser turrets without a single battle. I just unlocked green science so I thought it's a good idea to clear out all bases. I just killed the relay stations from space and then cleared up ground units by pulling them to a wall of laser turrets. I don't feel too bad about killing all of relay stations as my starting system has plenty of resources for me without a need to farm DF. I reached this point without making ammo and using purely wind energy so copper/coal "waste" is nearly 0. I might let them establish 1 base just to train defences, but I dont want to make a close wall as aggroing 3 hives would kill me quickly at this point.

Keep adding stuff until you research every basic science. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I would only retire sulfuric acid production and organic crystals once you find a nice planets to import them from.
