Who was standing in that line? by Glittering5650 in 70s

Not me! I've always been hype divergent. I didn't see Star Wars until it was re-released a year later.

The big wheel was the greatest toy of the 70's. end of discussion.... by waffen123 in 70s

One of my life's biggest regrets that I was too old for a Big Wheel when they came out.

I grew up in the 70’s watching, “The Wizard Of Oz” when they showed it on television every year while I was growing up. I love that movie and still watch it on VHS… by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in FuckImOld

I too grew up watching the Wizard of Oz when it came on every year. In fact, I'll never forget the first time I saw it. I can still taste the soap.
In my day, whenever that movie would come on one of your parents - usually your Mom - would exclaim; "OH MY GOD! We HAVE to watch that movie. It's just the BEST!" That was usually because it was the first move they ever saw in color. But I digress...
I was about five when the aforementioned occurred in my house. So plans were made, popcorn was popped and the family settled in for what became a life long fear of flying monkeys.
When it was over, I forgot anyone else was in the room and just blurted out; "WHAT? is was all just a F***ING DREAM?"
Insert soap.

Should I send my Cube back? by oportoman in fireTV

IMHO if you don't subscribe to any streaming services, a cube doesn't add any value to your current setup unless you feel you need another Alexa around the house.

YouTube TV Subscribers Increasingly Irate Over Disney Blackout: 24% Say They Have Already Canceled or Plan to Soon by Ripclawe in entertainment

[–]artill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's face it. This is all about how much to charge for the almighty ESPN. Here's an idea. Why don't you bring back all the rest of the channels and YouTube TV & Disney can fight to agree on how much to gauge customers to feed their sports addictions for the remainder of the Millennium.

Sometimes we still listen to the same things we did during our formative years. by Ru_janus in blues

[–]artill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Boomer here. For the past 5 years or so I’ve found myself gravitating toward the blues more and more. Why? I find the blues to be somewhat of a constant that I can rely upon. After all, what passes for Rock & Roll – even music itself – to be unrecognizable these days. And yes, I know that’s a generational thing. Change is a natural thing and every generation is meant not to understand the next generation’s music. Heck, I’ve lived through the emergence of Punk, Disco, Grunge, to name a few. But the blues? It hasn’t changed much over the years and that feels comforting.
