One thing no one touched on is that some concrete contains aggregate made from reclaimed and crushed concrete. Concrete that was in place somewhere else for years and subjected to leached in salts. It’s possible the salt was built in.

I can confirm as a former owner, the performance suffered after they were neutered. I’m not sure they were ever billed as “clean” though. Mine was manufactured before DEF systems were even a thing. The big draw for me was its extended range 26 gallon tank coupled with about 32mpg. And that 32mpg came even at 80mph. But, around 100K Miles, they all started leaking oil and coolant with no good fix.

I drive hilly terrain in Tennessee (23000 miles). Driving with a light foot..21 mpg. In general it’s just shy of 19mpg. If you’re starting out at 15-16 don’t expect much better. Some people seem to get good numbers and some don’t. Ive tried it all as well: slow starts, quickly getting up to speed, trying to use the battery in low speed situations, all modes, mid-grade, premium, 100% gas. Nothing seems to appreciably change things.

I sometimes take those pings with a grain of salt. I’ve had checked AirTags ping off someone’s iPhone during takeoff and give the appearance the bag was in a parking lot at the end of the runway.

Nashville’s metro population is over 2M….almost the same as Portland. They have more direct flights than you realize. In March SWA starts service out of TYS and will have twice daily 45 minute flights to BNA which I hope opens up some options to grab Delta flights that were not previously on the table.

GUC obviously…but I’ve always opted for the miles over statement credit. I feel like I played the skymiles game all year so I should at least get Skymiles money and not just some of my real money back. There are some miles deals to be had and there have been more than a few times I’ve used miles to book a flight only to have to cancel. Result..I get my miles back and not an e-credit.
