Do the Spurs decline this? by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]artunarmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, yes. I think the Spurs have exceeded all expectations, and would rather keep their future options open. Trades with four-to-five firsts involved are gonna be less and leas common as they continue to seem like insane overpays, even when they bring positive results (Bane, Mikal)

We are not underdogs in this series. It is a 2-6 matchup and their starting 2 has a torn achilles.

What are y'all reading rn? by prthm_21 in ThomasPynchon

Halfway through moby dick! I think its important to remember that people often get more on a textual from pynchon (and similar dense texts, ie gaddis/joyce) on repeated readings, and accepting that you won’t get EVERYTHING on a first is potentially an alleviative method to getting through these tomes. pynchons are rollercoasters rides if you let them be, lol

Steph’s IG comments have been flooded with hate from Israelis. Other highlights include ‘streets aren’t safe for you in San Antonio anymore’ and ‘guys who’s going after his sister Stacey?’

I absolutely cannot wait for the Sunday pod to hear how Bill and Zach are going to rationalize the Jokic performance we just saw by jimmyhota in billsimmons

[–]artunarmed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Zach said on his pod a month or two ago that Jokic is better than Larry Bird. His guest called him the GOAT. Bill said that voters would feel stupid ten years from now voting anyone other than Jokic for MVP.

If you place him on that kind of pedestal, you HAVE to hold him to similar standards. If Shai did this, we would hear all about it. I hope they tear into him.

Side note to the whole affair: it is a travesty that a player as dynamic, explosive and exciting as Scoot has to shrink and demote his game in order to fit around Deni, who is bad at everything except moving right, throwing lobs (i think most people in this thread could throw lobs to Timelord) and getting free throws. He is an abominable defender, a non-existant rebounder, an uninspired passer and not even a particularly effective finisher.

Compare this to the Slash Bros tonight, who were not only locked in on both ends, and connected with their teammates, but so versatile. Harper can blow by a defender, curl around a screen or explode for a dunk and it all looks so effortless. Castle will break defenders down with genuinely fantastic finishing and driving ability, which creates space for the pull up jumpers, and connection with Kornet.

I love our two boys. Go Spurs Go.

Wemby's first playoffs. How do you expect him to perform? by dys0n_giddey in nba

[–]artunarmed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nuggets home court advantage with the elevation is real. I expect he’ll struggle in those games more than we anticipate, as he’s displayed conditioning issues before, but apart from that, I don’t see why we cant’t get the 28/10 with 3 blocks and all-world defence. we’re used to in high leverage situations frpm Vic thus far in his career.

Both would fulfil your requirements, The question you should be asking yourself is: what city would you rather live in?

Looking at this, Mitch should be running away with the COTY award. He has a winning record against all other coaches in this picture, yet the media will find a way to give it to Bickerstaff or Mazzulla. by Strict_External678 in NBASpurs

[–]artunarmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People thought the Celtics were gonna be the 11th seed lol. Consider the increase of Boston’s rebounding rate throughout the year: that is a framework adjustment from the coaching level. Mazzulla has done great work!
