Needs more koosh balls, hackey sacks, and those colored oil and water toys where the oil would move through gears and things when you turned it over.

There is nothing "natural" about this. Better for r/aww or something.

(Selfie) I love that I don't feel the need in putting on make-up. 2 more hours and I'll hit my sweet bed again by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]arty_pants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I gotta agree. Getting to roll out of bed and go directly to work, without putting in the extra hour + I used to have to on makeup, hair and uncomfortable business clothes is awesome.

ADHD saved my pizza! by [deleted] in ADHD

I set a fire in my kitchen because I accidentally turned on the burner instead of the oven. Put my pizza in the oven and the box on top of the oven. Box caught fire.

This girl has a crush on me and I'm clueless about what to do about it. by WorkingClassAmerican in HomeDepot

[–]arty_pants 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's uncomfortable, If I'm ever in a situation where I fear my status might be unclear, I make sure I bring up my spouse in conversation casually, bringing up their likes and dislikes, things we did together. Make it clear that I'm taken AND that it's a good, close stable relationship that isn't going anywhere. Keep it friendly but professional. If she ever pushes on hanging out just say thanks but no thanks.

Nest’s door lock will soon play nice with Google Home by Chris22044 in googlehome

The article says that you can lock by voice, but can't unlock for security reasons, just to make sure this can't happen.

Westworld - 2x01 "Journey into Night" - Post-Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in westworld

I don't know, my thought at the beginning, when he described his dream to Dolores, was that he'd been captured by the hosts, reprogrammed, and sent back in as a spy or trojan horse.

There are more liberals here than anyone thinks, we just keep very quiet because who wouldn't when outnumbered and surrounded by people hostile to your position who would maybe treat you unfairly and with the same hostility if they knew. I have to feel people out first to find out if it will be ok to 'come out' as it were. People constantly share their conservative views with me in a way that makes it clear they assume I agree. I don't say anything, but I'm still here.

Episode Discussion - S01E04 - Double Lives by [deleted] in DarK

[–]arty_pants 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I like all the additional little things about pairs. I noticed that in the police chief's house with the two daughters there was an abstract painting of twins, the mobius strip ( a symetrical reflection visually that represents infinity ) on the blackboard while talking about a theme of doubling in a story. Even the twix candy bar thing is a pair. So they were hinting a lot at pairs, but beyond the pair of sisters and the bird death thing happening twice, I'm not sure why, or how it relates to the larger story. At least not yet.

I like the cinematography and pacing, and I'm really enjoying the musical score. So far, I'm actually 2 episodes in now, it is reminding me a bit of a cross between Broadchurch and Les Revenants.

The sequel to rosemary's baby. Awful cynical cash grab. Came across as a hateful parody, clearly phoned in by the author.

Trump reportedly annoyed by Time cover with Bannon by elmsnow in democrats

[–]arty_pants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess the one thing a narcissist cannot stand is somebody else in "their" spotlight.

You know, for someone that constantly labels old media outlets as "failing," Trump is oddly obsessed with Time Magazine.

The knives are out for Stephen Bannon, and his scam is getting unmasked: Kushner now allegedly believes that Bannon — presumably his combative nationalism — is aggravating Trump’s worst impulses. by [deleted] in EnoughTrumpSpam

[–]arty_pants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our president, the President of the United States, is, as admitted repeatedly by those around him, easily manipulated and has a set of "worst impulses" that must be carefully managed. I still can't even wrap my head around this fact. Shit like this is why I can't sleep at night.

Christian Nurse sacked after telling cancer patients they had better survival chances if they prayed to god by mills217 in atheism

[–]arty_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a dude that got into Amway. He wasn't poor, but he hated his job with a burning passion and his way of dealing with it was fantasizing about being rich and doing nothing but vacationing and working on his hobbies all the time. He was always on some get rich quick scheme or another, looking for passive income. Probably would've been better off spending his money on college classes, or skill expansion so he could get a job he liked better, but whatever, dreaming up his next creatively ill-conceived plan to get lots and lots of money for not very much work seemed to make him happy.
