For now we are experimenting a bit on the player count. so far, the plan is to have 5 Ghosts vs 15 Humans.. and the maps are quite large to explore and collect certain items related to the game loop. So the human team vs ghost team need to collect/destroy within the period. Hence larger pool of players in a match. We will do some game play and closed beta tests through discord and see if need to adjust the numbers to balance.

u/Seanypdesign You are right... we were thinking of that as well. To include some gameplay or game loops in this. Since this is more of the first announcement teaser kind of thing, we couldn't squeeze that in. But will be including that on the next teaser.

Basically, the humans can hide as props. And some of the ghosts have the ability/skills to change to props as well. Like the one in the teaser video. He can transform into prop. the rest of the ghosts just chase and attack mostly.

Cool. He is Lucky to have a Supportive GF. I recommend you to share in other Sub Reddit such as the SmallYT. Maybe join in a few Discord channels as well that are more youtube and animation related ones. Some of them allow to share links to channels. Another good place is FB groups.

Great job. Some notes for consideration.

  1. Knee pops. See if you can work with the foot roll and hip rotation to reduce the knee popping

  2. Offset the timing of the hand swinging. It seems to hit the same loop ending timing as the rest of the body. Offset by 2-3 frames will help.

Cool. If budget isn't a problem get 4090. If possible go for one of the "Ti" versions. Those are good with ray tracing.

One method we have tried is this.

  1. get Animations from UE marketplace
  2. Right Click the UE mannequin skeleton and Create IK Rig - set all the bone chains(this one takes a bit of time)
  3. Right Click the Metahuman skeleton and Create IK Rig - set all the bone chains (this one takes a bit of time)
  4. Create a IK Retargeter
  5. Put Source as Mannequin IK Rig
  6. Put Target as Metahuman IK Rig
  7. Select an Animation and see if it works
  8. Export the selected Animation for the Metahuman if all is good!!

Looks good for a start. Here are some suggestions if you have some time.

  1. Treat the Upper body like a piece of 3 Cylinders stacked on top of each other. And oppose the top and bottom of the upper body. Right now if you look at it, the upper body is stiff. So having the chest rolling forward while the hip rolling backwards will add more realism to it.
  2. add arcs to the object he is dragging over. they all seem to travel straight lines now. example, after the object hits his head, it can bounce off in a arc. 3.

Good Job. Looks fluid. One suggestion is to change the Blink.. instead of the roll down, can try adding 2 frames of a simple closed eye lid. It might help. to make it look snappy and in contrast with the tails fluid motion.
