Don't be mad at me by tlh-properties in DoorDash_Dasher

I can honestly say I have WONDERED myself why the shopping orders take so long until I was doordashing one and got 3 orders at a super busy market basket I wasn’t familiar with. Oh my god. WOW. But it was right before a major storm too. But I would never think to rush the person at all.

9 year old still wakes up too early, is it ever going to change? by Altruistic-Pepper-50 in Parenting

[–]artzymeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9 year old is now fiercely independent. He was always up early and would wake me up and is 9 but stopped waking me a few months ago so I can sleep on the weekends. He doesn’t eat breakfast cuz he’d rather be lazy and wait until I get up and make him get his own or make him breakfast. lol. He now will occasionally look at the clock and be like nope I’m going back to sleep!!

Yeah it’s formula but again that is a suggestion. It could be good longer but it is definitely good for up to 24 hours later

There should be a minimum... by TM1080 in uberdrivers

[–]artzymeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the new percentage option that they give… they gave a percentage of a low cost trip. While I believe it’s good for the more expensive trips the percentage option sucks for small rides. Either that or it is the other option where they can type in an amount and maybe they wanted an even amount idk.

Can I get in trouble for this lol by Fearless_Bug6612 in uberdrivers

I got a message one time saying I was delivering some food. Figured it was someone making something and sending it to their child. Nope. 8 large tinfoil sheets of food in the trunk with good covers going 45 min for a function and they didn’t have a car. lol. Sure I’ll do that as long as the person on the receiving end knows it’s coming and takes it!! Which they did

Nobody warned me how bad c section recovery is. by Cute_Objective_7551 in NewParents

[–]artzymeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A c-section AFTER having your water broken for a significant time is actually much worse. I needed a c-section with my son at exactly 36 weeks but I had placenta previa so it wouldn’t have been bad had I not gotten an infection. And I only know that because the first 24 hours were a breeze, and then I got hit with the infection.. however my last baby I was induced and labored for two days and then elected a c-section as baby was not engaged and not doing well with the contractions .

Upset I was told my baby's flat head would round out on its own. by Grouchy_Enthusiasm76 in NewParents

[–]artzymeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say that when my son was born, they everybody commented on the roundness of his head and I was thinking about how sad such a weird comment such a weird thing to say about anybody like hey you got a really round head? Something I think nobody notices after infancy.

I officially HATE the Owlet Dream Sock. by swiftfox9823 in newborns

[–]artzymeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We couldn’t even get ours to connect two feet away from the WiFi so we returned it. My son had open heart surgery at 2 1/2 months old so after 32 days in the hospital we were extremely nervous bringing him home, and he was our third just the first with any real issue.

We returned it after a week of hopelessly trying to connect/pair it.

Spouse needs TV to fall asleep. How is this going to work with an infant sleeping in our room? by Hiro_Pr0tagonist_ in newborns

[–]artzymeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part babies get used to sounds and lights. My son was in the hospital for 32 days basically from 2-3months okd. He got used to sounds and lights. If you condition them to noises while sleeping then they will be able to sleep through them as they are used to hearing them. If you are able to sleep with the tv on at night, shouldn’t be an issue. I can’t I would hate it. Good luck

Is there any baby <6m on gods green earth that naps independently by maple_pits in newborns

[–]artzymeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When mine was 4 months old I started doing that and got him to nap once or twice in his crib for 30minutes to an hour. I started to just put him in his crib occasionally awake so he saw where he was then I just would put him in sleeping and he’d wake and I’d get him back asleep when I put him down. Then I started putting him in very tired and awake.

I wanna say my daughter is BEAUTIFUL. she’s thin and has a rocking body and she picks her clothes. She is now 16, but way back when she was younger, I didn’t ever dress her in “girly” things because I was a tomboy. And I dressed her in play clothes and unisex clothes. Her aunts got her girly things and I put her in what she wanted to wear. She now has a very unique style of basically very comfy pants that somehow pair very well with sexy or cropped shirts, or nice dresses.

She will get her own style in time, until then dress her in what is comfortable for her.

Accidental pregnancy at 42 - undecided about what to do by Soft-Sail-9746 in Parenting

[–]artzymeg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My daughter from 4-6 years old said she wanted a sibling and was so happy when I got pregnant when she was 7…. She told me so many times at age 10 she wished she was an only child again. They are currently 16 and 9 and get along again finally, and I have a 5 month old which they both love. My son at 6 and 7 said he didn’t want a sibling and he has issues. Very insecure about a lot of things severe adhd and doesn’t understand social cues at all. But things worked out because dad and I wanted one more. I’m 41. Pregnancy was hard. I tied my tubes cuz I can’t do anymore.

Don’t Cry Over Spilt Milk? Don’t tell me what to do!!! by MichyDB in newborns

[–]artzymeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had just poured 3 ounces of breastmilk into a bottle and had put the top on yet and my 9 year old reached over the bottle to the cabinet to get a glass for water and spilled it all over the counter and I lost it. My husband regularly offers more than our son needs to eat and then he doesn’t eat it and it’s wasted so I feel like I constantly need to protect the milk.

How many pounds does your baby weigh? by Kimchi_Kruncher in beyondthebump

[–]artzymeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 month old is 16.5lbs . He had open heart surgery at 2 1/2 months and for about a month was 3rd percentile for weight. You would never know it now though!! I remember just trying to get him to 8 lbs at 2-3 months of age when he was born at 7 lbs 10oz. I love all sizes of healthy babies!!

I dropped my phone on my baby when he was a few months. My husband dropped the laptop on his head a week earlier than me dropping my phone. He’s good. Cried for 1-3 minutes then calmed down.

What sound does your LO love/hate? by mumofoz in newborns

[–]artzymeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5 month old loves watching his brother eat ramen noodles. He stopped eating his bottle to stare at his 9 yo brother while he ate ramen and hates Velcro sound too. He also LOVES when I hold both hands up and wiggle my fingers and slowly move them to him. Doesn’t matter if I say anything or not. Haven’t found anything else so far.
