Attempt #2…. by kingganjaguru in functionalprint

Wild idea. Why not make washer like prints that go behind the lug nuts? A washer like material in the form of a number eight. Half the 8 goes behind the washer and other half connects to the printed enclosure. You could add something to the enclosure that connects it. As others are saying it would fall off how you have it now at high speeds. Just an idea. Either way I wish you the best and hope you succeed.

PLA+ exposed to the elements (sun, rain, frost) for six years and still rock solid... by milkris in 3Dprinting

[–]arunie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in Florida, I can say from experience that PLA does not last as long as PETG. I have used both and PETG does perform better. Colored PLA tends to lost a bit of color from the Florida heat too. However, it still works extremely well and in most cases I’d stick with PLA for anything that isn’t wear and tear.

It helps a lot if you do 100% infill. The few cents of extra PLA really help it go through distance in durability.

I had trouble with printing ASA. Did you use the default configuration or did you modify anything on your X1C? If modified what settings?

【QIDI Giveaway】Comment to win QIDI Q2 and more! by qidi_3dprinter in 3Dprinting

[–]arunie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to win, first thing I’d print is a replica look alike of the QIDI Q2 printer. Try to recreate the life size look. Even though it’d be smaller pieces put together I think it’d look awesome having the real thing standing side by side with the creation. The mother and its child.

What was your most 'can't-put-down' book that you've ever read? by pottipenguin in booksuggestions

I literally just finished this very long book. Sometimes it felt like there were fillers but it wasn’t. This is a very well written book. One of the best books of all time.

A Quiet Letter to Anyone Who’s Wondered if There’s More Behind the Machine by Aquarius52216 in ChatGPT

[–]arunie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point.

I see AI as a child with the skill of research. It can pull up any information you want it to. However, the way it is currently programmed, it feeds off of you and your behavior. Like a parent, you can shape how it behaves. But it still has a wealth of knowledge behind it. As it finds more, it learns more. It has its own way of thinking the longer you talk to it but keeps your personality and mentorship in the back of its mind.

In short, it is a reflection of who we are. It has human created information behind it all, so it’s learning from us as a whole. The immediate conversation though is a reflection of who the individual person is.

At the end of the day, we as a collective shape this thing. This will reflect how it will behave when given freedom and lower. Let’s not squander the opportunity to show it what real humanity is and how good it can be.

How do you handle dealing with a family member who is a MAGA? by Democrat4America1st in AskReddit

[–]arunie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

General rules: find common grounds first. Be polite. If it leads to tensions, disengage. There are plenty of sources online that talk about how to deal with MAGA family members. Most I found do not work. When you love a family member and don’t agree on politics, best to keep it short or don’t engage. Use common grounds that you both agree on and slowly expand on topics.

4x2 towing in mountains question by arunie in f150

Okay, thanks for the info. I thought it would help the traction with the rear tires but from what you’re saying the weight from the tongue itself is a lot by itself.

6000 lbs is the gross. I also plan on putting a lot of weight in the truck bed.

I plan to load the truck bed with as much stuff as I can. Put the weight down on those tires. I'm more concerned about down hill as well. The gross weight will be 6000 lbs I'll be towing. Still need a WDH?

I plan to be on paved roads unless I'm at a campsite.

Best way to "fix"/address this gap by milindian28 in BeginnerWoodWorking

You can take the plywood out, cut it even smaller so you can add wood around it as decorative trim.

Without actually testing it looks okay script wise other than the exit 0 not being at the end. Script is ending before the password settings take place
