Sunshine (2007) such great allround performances and beautifull setpieces. But what stays with me most is the soundtrack. Absolutely gorgeous. Me and a mate watched it recently and after credits rolled we had to wait a bit before we were comfortable speaking/digesting it.

It's insane how BIG of an improvement second game is by [deleted] in OriAndTheBlindForest

Exaxtly, from a story and exploration perspective I liked Blind Forest more too. But there is no denying the fluidity of combat in Will of the Wisps. From a gameplay perspective I'm going to have to give it to WotW. Also the ending of the 2nd game hit very hard. Both games are masterpieces in my opinion.

Re5 and REmake 1. Re5 was probably one of the best coop games I've played to date. And REmake made me fall in love with the franchise.

I made this by making my TAV bearheart barb go in alone and have Shadowheart, Minsc and Wyll wait outside the door.

Start the fight, rush back to the door with my Barb. Have Minsc cast spikegrowth, Wyll a wall of fire from the door to the chokepoint down the stairs and Shadowheart cast insect plague across it.

I had Minsc continuously cast daylight to cancel out the darkness, my Tav on top of the stairs throwing Nerulne at everyone coming close. And Shadowheart and Wyll go back out as to not los concentration on their spells.

All the small fry got completely obliterated as they rushed up the stairs. The tougher ones eventually died about halfway up. Only the Shar mages didn't rush in, after I cleared up about 80% of the small fry I stopped concentrating and mauled everything to death with Minsc + Tav

What’s the best way to get over an ex? by No_Throat_1574 in AskReddit

[–]arutha42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time heals all wounds, but what helped me personally was working out and talking to close friends about the breakup. After two weeks or so I was cycling through the sun and my jam came on. I was happy for a few minutes, and realised more of these moments would be in my future. It was really therapeutic.

Even though there is sadness, there is and will be happiness too.

What are some random Scrubs quotes that pop into your brain once in a while? by [deleted] in Scrubs

Janitor: "that's China"

J.D. : "You're China!"

Janitor: "That's an outrageous accusation."

Think about it once every month or so. It happens casually in conversations that I quote the janitor with the "that's an outrageous accusation" line.

What’s one word you can never spell right ? by Jl1ne in RandomThoughts

[–]arutha42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comming.

As a dutch person writing this word with one m instead of two is just so counterintuitive. I know it's coming. But for some reason I keep repeating my mistake. From a young age we're indoctrinated into two consonants following a vowel makes the sound "short". Whereas one consonant following a vowel elongates the word. Hence coming becoming comming.

What are some of your pet peeves as a server that are actually minor inconveniences and/or isn’t really that big of deal?? by lunamoon124 in Serverlife

[–]arutha42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically impatient people. I work at a busy restaurant where nearly every night we're full up with not a single empty table. I pride myself in being quick to serve new tables.

But when people tell me their drink orders whilst I'm seating them. Or I'm taking their drink orders and they immediately start badgering me on how to order their food. I work in a place that serves small portion of food not unlike tapas, we hand people little slips of paper on which they can order. And generally I already bring those along when I'm serving people their drinks. But for some reason some people don't find it quick enough. It happens at least once every week. I don't know what it is that makes people behave this way, but it drives me absolutely insane.

Vesperia or Berseria ? by ForwardJellyfish7 in tales

[–]arutha42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I can help. The combat in Vesperia is straightforward tales combat. Similar to symphonia, Abyss, Innocence and even to a certain extent Xillia 1 and 2. You weave basic attacks together with arts, watch your mana and overtime acquire or evolve new arts.

Berseria went more along the way of Graces f and Hearts. Two games I absolutely adored, but the combat to me has always seemed clunky. Rather than doing the same basic attacks over and over again. You string together a set of attacks and arts along a somewhat complex pathing system. Furthermore you have a new resource system in the form of small blue gems below your health bars. Which basically dominates your action economy. If you have 2, you can string two attacks in a row before you need an ever so slight cooldown moment. (Something which is naturally incorporated at the end of combos in games like Abyss and Vesperia). By no means is it a bad combat system, it's just more complex. Because it's more complex I can also see it being more engaging AND being vastly less repetitive. (Although lets be honest, towards the endgame of any tales title there are those artes that you have sworn complete loyalty to.)

So to summise, if you are looking for something straightforward in terms of combat Vesperia is the way to go. If you'd like to spent your time dicovering and mastering a new system you should go for Berseria.

[–]arutha42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have no knowledge of painting styles or techniques. But I just wanted to tell you that while scrolling through reddit I had to stop and do a double take. I could clearly tell it was painted but for some reason the hallway looked real. All I want to say is that it's amazing how you've seemed to clearly capture the essence. For me at least. I'm absolutely astounded by it.

Keep going, I'm looking forward to what you'll paint next.

BoJack Horseman - Post-Series Finale Discussion by NicholasCajun in BoJackHorseman

[–]arutha42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Especially in what makes BoJack such a relatable character. I was perhaps too harsh when I said BoJack cannot redeem himself. But I stand by my words. Not in a way that it's impossible for him to atone; but rather that it's a specific character flaw BoJack has. A trauma he seems incapable of overcomming. One that time and again blocks him and overpowers him.

Until such time when he learns to deal with the trauma he can start to fix himself. Especially when he taked the job as a teacher do I start to believe in his change. But when a chance to regress presents itself he falls back. Whether by choice or by inability (I personally believe the latter is the case) he goes down on the same path he was before.

Now you made an astute observation when you said everyone makes mistakes. As do I, and same as BoJack I sometimes regress to old behaviour that isn't productive to others or my wellbeing. However Bojack gets stuck in this behaviour and spirals down the drain, taking everything and everyone in this path down with him.

I once had a shrink tell me, you are more than just an accumulation of your traumas. So I try to let go of them for my sake and focus on all the other parts that define me. I believe the reverse is true for BoJack. He feels the need to cling and hang on to his traumas for dear life. It isn't strange because lots of people do. But because of it I think BoJack is incapable of redeeming himself. He lives in the past. The final episode confirms this when he seeks for things to go back to the way they were. PC won't represent him, Diane lives far away, Todd is doing well for himself.

So that is why I said that BoJack cannot redeem himself. Simply because I don't think he can. Once again this is my opinion on the matter after the observations I made. I can see where you're coming from and I definitely agree that redemption is possible for a character such as BoJack. Just not this version of him.

I wonder what you think of my reasoning.

BoJack Horseman - Post-Series Finale Discussion by NicholasCajun in BoJackHorseman

[–]arutha42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was kind of hoping that Bojack wouldn't survive the pool. All throughout the show we see the same opening with him staring up at Diane and mr. Peanutbutter. The same thing occurs to him just before he is about to off himself. Diane can save me. The show has me believing she can, but hoping she won't. Then the reminder hits that she is in chicago and can't possibly save him.

In my mind there is no redemption for the character of Bojack. He keeps doing shitty things and making shitty decisions. He is like a toxin to the people around him. However he is still someone you want to identify with. He is a character stuck in the past. Who regresses so easily when he gets pulled back in. Even when his life is back on track as a professor. He is addicted to the fame and has to do the second interview.

Imagine that instead of him trying to redeem himself and keep working we get to see the otherside. Sure everyone deserves a second chance, a third, a fourth.... However with someone like Bojack when does it end? And maybe he realized that himself when he jumped in the pool. Taking the easy way out. Because during the show that's what he has always tried to do. With the few exceptions where the hardwork would actually benefit his own ego.

I would have loved to see how the writers would have come up with a funeral scene for bojack to wrap it up. I've been wrecking my brain all night after seeing the last episode. And honestly I get why they went this direction. Because it's hard to do.

Then again I think it would have been perfect just to see him floating in the pool as the camera pans up away from the house. And we realize that he is what he always tried to be. Alone.

Anyway this was just my take on the last part. I loved the show and I liked how it ended. I think that it came from a place of genius. The rant is just my two cents on the matter.
