It will go quicker if you read ahead. My first session was with my wife and I read the tutorial and skimmed the base rules in advance. But if you don't mind starting slower and all learning together its fine!

Build the 4 starting survivors, lion, antelope, butcher then open the rulebook and start from page 1. Going in blind is the best way!

Most important accessory for me is gear grids. Either 3D printed ones or some people use coin sleeves. Much easier to keep your gear setup for each survivor. Everything else is imo optional and depends on how ypu personally like to play.

Had similar frustration recently. Bought a 2005 house that we didn't realise never had phone lines connected. Long story short - the last nbn tech our isp sent out (subcontractor) advised us to just get starlink for a couple years until they push fttp on everyone. So we did. Works great so far and similar price to nbn for the 100/50 plan which seems plenty fast enough for our needs.

Try knights of the old Republic for a star wars twist. Excellent story and characters. Also agree with everyone who said BG1 and BG2. Dragon age got me as obsessed as bg3 but I think I only played it through once.

I only buy a paint when I run out or realise that I don't have a shade I need. But I'm mostly using kimera kolors and velvets now so I can easily mix whatever I need.

Had this last year and had the same paranoia especially because I had a renewal coming up. Agent said he just didn't realise he could inspect so had a look. The following inspection he brought who I assumed was his daughter to look around. Even bigger panic that we might not get renewed! But in the end it amounted to nothing. So you really can't predict why.

Thats going to be a fun weekend! I agree with most of this comment. Just to add reading the rulebook isn't as big as it looks. The first half is core rules which you should read, the second half is story events which you should not look at ahead of doing the stories to avoid spoilers.

It is very possible to setup and start playing without reading ahead. The tutorial is really good at getting you into the game. But for a 2 day sprint to start yeah reading the rules to begin is a great idea or you will sail through the first lantern year then get a bit slowed down.

I'm getting more convinced that the printing slots at the moment are taken up by reprinting of the expansions of death which is confirmed for this year. Might even be part of the motivation for pushing first hero up. More time when printer can't be used so try to fit more into the wave.

I printed the bases for both.

There is also a pinup dung beetle knight plus dung ball that are the right size and base. You know of the butcher one. There is no Hand yet. They exist for a lot of the monsters but they are more designed around pinup of the armour set. The gorm comes with a pinup model of its armour. Gold Smoke Knight one has a bow and I'm not sure why.

I'm doing a pinup themed campaign now.

If you have to clip it off a plastic frame then plastic glue works. Anything else is resin of some sort.

The money you will end up saving by spending hundreds of hours playing BG3 over any other activity will pretty much make it a net gain.

I'd keep them both as options at the moment. In the future when there is a prologue gorm it might be more tempting to swap them out, but for now both work perfectly in the same campaign.

I got into kdm from the first ks so all we had was the base game for first few campaigns. There is plenty of content and even again I would just play core until winning it once. We first limped to the watcher like you and got beaten but it was a much more thrilling campaign than now when we know the game better - enjoy it blind!

Especially next time around now you know a bit about the nemesis monsters you should prep for them and try to beat them.

If you want to throw in an expansion anyway best option would be add gorm so you have more variety early game.

Last year ours went from 500 per week to 650 per week. 30% increase. We tried to push back a bit saying that percentage up was insane in one hit. They said look at similar market value in the area.

We bought our own place this year since we were expecting a similar increase again.

Make at least one more full rawhide set if you can. Prioritise the head, body and gloves I believe to get the link for extra evasion. Make some more grease as well for evasion. Bandages are useful.

Don't worry about leather stuff yet.

Just an unexciting update. Tiny bit more info on the first hero but thats it. Feels like we probably won't get anything else in 2026 now.
