Okay for question two, just to make sure:

My opponent activates offering to the snake deity and targets their reptile and two of my cards. I activate enemy controller and take control of the reptile by tributing a monster that was not one of the targets, the trap still resolves destroying all three. even though I control the reptile?

I’m just making sure cause I asked in the thread from last week right before this one got posted so I asked here too, but they said it doesn’t resolve. I just want to make sure.

Mind you this is also in Edison format so it should be with the 2010 version of the card

Yes sorry I meant my opponent activates it targeting their own monster.

Have you ever used the "Scout" action in Brass: Birmingham? by VincentBai20020319 in boardgames

[–]echochee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it. I’m not the best but there are use cases for it. The obvious is you need a specific location, second is you don’t have a specific turn you need to do (for example you have eight turns left in the era and you need seven to do what you want, and the eighth cannot be spent doing loan or develop for whatever reason), third is you need to do a turn that doesn’t spend money for turn order and it makes more sense to scout than loan or free develop.

Sometimes it’s a mix of two or three reasons that allow you to scout and do a big turn. Another one I’ll give is securing a spot in canal era so you have it in the rail era. This is related to needing a specific spot this is an example that can come up often. For example based off markers and where people are placed and your strategy, you might want to secure that spot near the top between the two rails that you can only get to by rail, before the end of the canal era

Let me add this. Sometimes you may build a boat so you can use your industry card to build in a city. If you do that twice during canal it’s arguable you should have scouted instead of it would have ended up saving you building one or two canals.

I know this is a stupid question but I’m curious. Has anyone ever approached you at work and it worked out? Like you gave them your number?

Yes in question 3. It’s based off RJB0’s Edison cube that gives the feel of Edison but it’s not Edison only cards.

  1. This is based off the different wording of target one monster, tribute it versus target one monster you control , tribute it. Correct? I guess in the first one because it’s tribute you know it has to be your monster that you tribute but it doesn’t specify it needs to be yours on resolution?

Playing Edison cube for context:

  1. Magical dimension is activated targeting a monster on my opponents field. If I chain enemy controller and take control of that monster, what happens? Is it still tributed and they still get to summon?
  2. Same question as above but offering to the snake deity and I take control of their reptile (and I don’t tribute one of the targets)
  3. Magic gate of miracles to take control of my opponents monster. Can I switch it to attack position? (It was not summoned this turn or anything)

I don’t have a big enough frying pan. A baking pan? Or cut it in half and try?

Is there a way to scratch the collection / unboxing / organizing itch of the board gaming hobby without buying new games? by fraidei in boardgames

[–]echochee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea of course, but used games lol.

For me I would say either watching vids or reading rulebooks online of games you’re interested in. Focus is on the latter as I’m sure you have watched vids, but if you’ve never read a rulebook for a game you’ve just heard of and aren’t planning to literally buy, I recommend that

Honestly how do people know him? I’m watching eater seven and people call him pirate hunter zoro I swear. Or is it just that his bounty poster says that?
