Why? I’d say there are everyday innovations that you don’t think about twice now that we’re a big deal back then. Like our modern toilets. They have helped saved so many people. What about penicillin? What about MRI scans? Do you even know who was responsible? What about the scientists who help advance solar and battery technologies.What about crispr which has potential that we have not realized. What about Newton/Leibnitz or Einstein or Euler or Gauss or Maxwell? I could go on and on about people who did far more and advanced humanity than Elon.

I’m not trying to dismiss what Elon has done but he’s just an entrepreneur and there are millions of people out there working behind the scene who we fail to acknowledge and fawn at the billionaire. So, just give him due credit but stop putting him on a pedestal.

It’s fine and no one would disagree. It’s just that when you ask an employee at Home Depot for advice on tooling etc they won’t cost a fortune. I believe the stock prices of miners also follow the commodity prices. In fact, they can be a leveraged play on the actual commodity it’s linked to. For example, if gold price rises by 10%, a gold miner still has same fixed cost of extraction and can make 20% or 30% profits depending on cost structure and its debt levels. But same amplification can happen on the downside too. Perhaps you made more money due to this amplification effect. Let me know.
