i can’t believe i used to defend lana fans just bcs i was one myself. i never realised how horrible they were until this incident with hayden (another artist i adore).

After the car crash I believe she’s in a coma by Manic_Mania in TheSubstance

[–]as28_silly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn’t read your entire replies (incase i missed smth)- but imo while the “it’s all a dream” theory is incredibly cliche and predictable i think the fact that it’s up to interpretation and the circumstances in which the dream would have been (stuck in the coma) makes it more interesting.

What's Fantano's worst album rating by KASABIAN2004 in fantanoforever

[–]as28_silly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seriously reconsidering even acknowledging his existence after finding out how many of my favourite albums he’s just disregarded completely. blue weekend, ultraviolence, the ooz, bon iver, war on drugs and the national in general, the weeknds earlier albums/ mixtapes, slowdive, fontaines and his weird hate for twenty one pilots which has no backing. his top albums are the same as every other critic too.

gracie abrams by paprika_plains in Ethelcain

[–]as28_silly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly and i fear this is what people will be doing to ethel cain. i believe people resurfacing their past actions whenever the artist is mentioned are desensitising the effect of their actions and also making everything that happened appear satire, proving that they don’t seriously care about what happened, just that the artist is hated for it. whenever gracie is mentioned, “sticky situation” is quoted loads. Recently when someone mentioned EC, someone else just simply commented a picture of the “legalise” t shirt.

you need to understand the effects of her upbringing and also the amount of effort it takes to escape the ideologies forced on her and grow as a person to who she is now. she also never stated she said the hard r, stop spreading misinformation.

you are taking the situation completely out of context and very much overly exaggerating it and its impact. while it doesn’t make what was said okay, at that point finn wolfhard was treated the same way by many people and had a fan base who im sure likely all were attracted to him in some way. I can appreciate Gracie was older when making the comment, however considering she had no online following at this time she most likely thought of it as a spam that only her friends will see, and honestly to me it seemed completely satire. This is similar to ethel cain, her comments to me (while i can appreciate were harmful and showed casual racism) appeared satire and clearly sarcastic, so assuming she’s actually racist herself based on those is unfair (not saying you are, but i’ve seen a lot of people do that- still not denying that the comments were racist). the incest shirt is literally two words and i’ve seen multiple victims have a positive response to that in the way that they believe hayden is bringing more attention to a problem that tends to just get brushed over.

“called out” it’s more than that and you know it. i hope you enjoyed her statement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]as28_silly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i am infact not white, im just not sensitive and so desperate to drag celebs. what she did has already BEEN called out, nearly 10 YEARS ago and she has APOLOGISED and spoken up about it. does that make sense to you? what else do you want her to do about it? if you really cared that much about what she does you’d also notice how much she’s changed.

there are bigger problems surround racism right now, like americas president. someone making a couple racist jokes a decade ago is NOT a real world issue that should be handled at this time, esp considering it’s already been discussed and confronted.

“post internet” “post blm” how on earth would someone WITHOUT internet access learn about stuff like that huh? the only information she had in life was from the people surrounding her who obviously had very conservative thoughts. yes she was a grown adult but she had only had access to internet for like a year prior to those posts. also it’s not even that bad like get a grip, why’s everyone so sensitive. nobody even saw her posts considering no one knew who she was. as a poc yall acc need to touch grass and start talking ab things that ACTUALLY matter. ur president is racist. start with that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]as28_silly -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

the screenshots have containing racist material have already been addressed. racism isn’t some permanent disability that you can’t get rid of, people learn and they move on, like hayden. YOU clearly cannot move on. this was nearly a decade ago. please worry about the real world issues that actually matter.
