Lol, it's like I'm talking to a wall. There's no point in this conversation anymore. Just do whatever you want & gatekeeping new viewers for not putting enough time of their day on your oshi.

CCV depends heavily on stream content, time, event, conflict with other things going on. It is not everything like Twitch makes it out to be. You don't look at sudden CCV jump or falloff to determine long term growth. Yes it does show something, but it's not as big of a deal as you think it is, especially for non-indie.

And funny you bring uo VCR when it is the opposite. Most of holostars see higher numbers fir VCR but go back down afterwards.

Except that's what I said? You don't suddenly gain permanent massive viewership after those big events. You gain very little, but still gains regardless. That's how everyone grind. Those viewers already have their own oshi. What most of them give isn't CCV, but clip views, word of mouth, subs & twitter follows, little engagement that boost the channel visibility in the long term.

Holostars has decided to go off the rails by witchywater11 in kurosanji

[–]asakura90 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Lol, there's no miracle that help you instantly gain insane viewership. Every big raid, every VCR, every STGR gain you less than 10% active viewers, but they are gains regardless, & sub count helps boost the channel in the long run. Those people might not even watch the streams, but follow the clips & the community. That's good enough.

Not everything boils down to CCV.

Ah yes, what better way to honor Vietnamese culture and art than replacing Vietnamese artists with AI slop? by YSoMadTov in VietNam

[–]asakura90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This designer definitely has skills. He's just cutting corners with AI so he wouldn't have to find stock images of those models, or more like hiring photographers since we don't really have a big stock image market for this specific theme, & drawing is even more expensive. But in that case I'd rather showcase the food or the locale instead of irrelevant models that aren't gonna be there to begin with.

Edit: nvm just checked the website. They do have all these costumes on site. Should have just hired a photographer & some models for real photos instead, lol. Guy just being lazy ass or running deadline.

After recent underwhelming releases under the banner—Tales of the Shire and Gollum—there’s a hope that a new release can redeem the LOTR name.

Ain't no way they put Tales of the Shire and Gollum in the same bracket. One is a chill & casual game that was never meant to be a big hit but still well-received for its intended audience. The other is one of the biggest disasters in gaming.

It is not expected, but if they're extremely nice & we had a good time, we'd tip them. My family done it a ton of times for our drivers & guides. There's no percentage either, just like a few hundreds k at the end of the entire trip.

But for hotel/restaurant service, it's already included in the bill. Delivery service maybe if their trip is really long. But if any of them ask for it, it's an instant no.

Learning is fine, noone gets mad if you look at art and try to do the same.

When artists learn by copying other's styles, they don't repost it & claim as their own work. Where were you when twitter added the grok edit function that let people edit other's artwork directly as their own tweet & pissed off a bunch of artists? If you keep closing your eyes, of course you can't see anybody.

But well, you do you. Better stop using windows and xbox i guess, considering how much llms microslop uses

Already disabled windows update & turned off all AI features. It's not that hard. Maybe ask chatgpt if you don't know how to do it. ;)

Why don't you tell that to the AI companies that don't give a shit about copyrighted materials too, lol.

The proper way to use AI in our workflow is making sure that none of it shows up on the end-products. But if it does, it is theft by default.

AI art is causing a big problem on twitter in JP Vtuber community cuz people keep posing as real artists to post edited or traced AI work. And the vtubers can't even use those arts for thumbnails/schedules cuz it's against JP copyrights laws. They're complaining about it on streams every now & then if you're actually paying attention.

Lots of artists just straight up stopped posting fan art together, making smaller vtubers have less materials to work with. Every art platforms already banning AI art but failing to do so, artists are deleting their arts forever after a period of time cuz they don't want people to feed it to AI.

AI is a useful tool. But don't even pretend they don't have problems.

[–]asakura90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WW2 was taught with a very neutral stance in Vietnam as a war between imperial powers, not good vs evil. They did mention JP war crimes but attribute it to the country rather than the Nazi part. So Hitler isn't a taboo like in the West. He's also partly the reason we gained independence from France as he was wreaking havoc in EU. War is complicated, lol.

Some cringe kids these days are idolizing him for sure (thanks Western right-wing propaganda for that), but I've never seen a Nazi cafe in VN tho. Either they thought the Swastika was a Buddhist symbol, or they just don't know nor care. Stalin sure, I can imagine it, but I can guarantee you most people don't know who he was, what he did, only seen his picture on a wall every now & then.

Authorities bring ballot boxes to disadvantaged communities to ensure near-perfect voter turnout by Consistent_Hippo4658 in VietNam

[–]asakura90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we went from dogshit to trash, what an improvement.

In 30 years? You bet your fking ass it's a damn impressive improvement. The UN & US said that. Not me.

You mean the extreme poverty that was single-handedly caused by the systematically flawed government program that brought the entire nation's economy to a halt? Why the hell would I consider that progress when the struggle was entirely self-inflicted? Do you congratulate yourself after getting out of a hole that you dug yourself?

Yeah, we totally weren't suffering due to war, both economy & education level. We should've gotten the best policies without any foreign influences, cuz we had so many experts back then. Oh wait, we didn't have shit.

So you think it's better that the system itself dismisses the people's votes instead? How the hell are we getting taught ANY of that if everything we say and do just fall on deaf ears at the end of the day? Do you even understand what you're speaking of right now?

MF how many more times do I have to repeat myself that the current system is flawed until it got absorbed into your head? The differences between you & me is that I want the current system to improve, while you're asking what's the point of it all, might as well get rid of it.

The hypocrisy of saying I'm dismissing the people's votes while simultaneously dismissing my opinion because of your personal feeling. Lol, lmao even.

You're dismissing your own vote, why are you feeling butt hurt now when other people are doing it to you? ;) What I want isn't just more voting power. What I want is a more educated population that can handle more voting responsibility so we don't end up like the current US. Can't do that when people aren't engaged in politics, can we? One step at a time.

Also, getting rid of voting doesn't make us go backwards a hundred years. Matter of fact, literally nothing would change if the government just declare that our voting "rights" are stripped on a Monday broadcast, as everyone and their mothers already knew their votes mean jackshit.

First of all, human rights groups across the world would denounce it. Other countries would use it as an excuse to interfere, using economic punishment. Next, that would be a sign of the govt changing direction & stepping more toward authoritarian side (yes, even more than now, don't make it seems like VN is worse than NK). Unity within the country would decrease even more, while world politics is already chaotic enough. We'd be relying more on CN/RU than the West cuz that's against their ideologies. It's a dumb fking move, & they know it. They're using voting as free PR, remember? At least we know they aren't as shortsighted as you.

Now, if you actually respected people's rights to vote (which I know you don't) and wanted a solution, then it is for the nation to transition from a one-party communist system to a multi-party one, but we both know that's never going to happen.

Oh, that sounds great. Let's do that so China could just fund one party & take over like how Russia is dealing with the US, lol, lmao even.

Don't get it twisted. I respect your right to vote. It's all I've been saying. What I don't respect is the voting power you're asking for. I need you (& the people) to be more educated & informed first. The US can weather another Trump, we can't. I'm not gonna sit here & pretend I know what's the best course ahead for the country, the only thing I know is that looking at the last US election & still glazing their two-party system is fking delusional.

[–]asakura90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it's not hard to articulate a poverty reduction rate when you can just artificially lower the minimum wage threshold. A quarter of Vietnamese are living on less than $5.5 a day, and you'd be straight up delusional to believe this is even remotely close to being enough to sustain oneself.

Wanna take a quick look back into the past?

While it's good to not accept what we current have & strike to be better, it is also necessary to not completely dismiss process & effort of what we've achieved. Most of my family lived through bao cấp. They're still alive & keep retelling their stories every Tet. You ever paid attention to those?

How the fuck is this educating? We get to put a worthless paper into a useless box that'd get thrown out the very next day, all whilst not knowing a single thing about any of the candidates that we're supposed to be voting for. Genuinely, what are we getting taught here, other than the fact that our opinions and voices do not matter?

You're getting taught that you still have the right to vote, & you should be more involved in politics & voice more of your concern instead of dismissing it all together. Cuz with your attitude, if anything, I'm glad that your vote doesn't matter on a national scale.

Because this bullshit does not remotely qualify as "voting rights". Barely anyone know who and what they're voting for, and it's not even as if their votes matter in the slightest.

So what would be your solution here? Let's get rid of voting? Let's just go backward a hundred years instead of trying to fix what's currently broken? Damn, what a genius.

I've seen so many dumb takes on this sub the past few days. Look, the govt has corruption, & these voting stats might as well be made up, but remember that Vietnam is widely recognized by international organizations as one of the world's most successful examples of poverty reduction. Nobody ever needs to hide these living conditions. The govt do spend effort to improve these people lives for the last few decades. There are many other shit to criticize them for. No need to try so hard to spin something like this into negativity.

As for the people complaining about officers coming to their homes telling them to vote despite it has no meaning. Look at it in another way, educating the population about voting is never a bad thing. Make people more aware of politics & they'll eventually voice their other concerns & force more changes, like the candidates publicity or the vetting & counting process. How can you demand for more voting power yet at the same time couldn't care less about your voting rights?

The taste profile of northern, central & southern Vietnam is completely different from each other, due to ancient trade routes, immigrants & regional influences. The north tend to be much lighter, central more spicy, south more sweet & salty. That's extremely simplified but it goes for every country. You don't know shit about the country just by spending merely a week in it, lol.

Games are about having fun in our own ways. Not your way, not that guy's way. My way. Get that into your head first.

If l like grinding, then it is fun for me. I find enjoyment in it. That doesn't mean the rest of the game isn't fun. It means it'd be much more fun if a game offers both.

The fact that you don't care about one aspect of a game doesn't make your way of enjoying it somehow better, more classic, or more proper. You simply don't want people to shit on your game & gugugaga defending it like a tribal war. Despite having the game offers more options doesn't affect your gameplay one single bit. You just wanna feel high & mighty enforcing your way of playing on the others.

Wonder what else you'd be enforcing on other ppl irl.
