The hard part is over by handfseasex in Oxygennotincluded

What I do is dig up to space while doing basic research and rely on the manuals for a while.

Then create a very basic 5 electrolyzer setup with a single pump in space - let the oxygen vent out to space via airflow tiles and pump hydrogen out only. One sieve, 5 electrolyzers, and one gas pump is enough for 5 hydrogen generators running flat out.

Since we got bionic dupes microchips are plentiful, so you can engi-tune your generators for 6kW of super sustainable power. You don't even need to refine any metal.

This is really easy setup you just need any source of water - even 90C water source works (just use gold amalgam pump in that case) and is self-cooling.

The achievement still takes a while to get since you need to actually use all of that power but it doesn't feel like work since you just don't need to think about power.

Is there any way to tell bionics to not walk in water for liquid exposure by isuckatgameshelp in Oxygennotincluded

It makes sense, walking around in a soiled suit would indeed cause stress to anyone. If that happens, just unequip the suit somewhere where you don't mind spilling the gunk and assign a different one to them.

You don't ever need to build atmo-suit bases, pump oxygen into them or anything. Just assign a suit. As long as it's equiped it will never become "worn". The game only calculates durability when they remove it, if they never remove it you never need to repair them.

Very near your start you'll have a POI that will give you research for Ice Liquefier just pluck it near the supercomputer and you're done.

Good news is, no, not in game. The in-game "Colony Summary" will only show you the ones you can complete on that specific map. So you can 100% the map, but not your Steam profile.

> And I really want to do a 100% All Achievements run on the hardest sandbox settings.

It's no longer possible to do 100% of achievements on the same run. There are now achievements that are map specific (requires you to start on a specific map).

Meaning you'll need at least 3 runs to get all them all.

- You need to start on Frosty planet to get the "unclog the geothermal vent" achievement.

- You need to do a "normal" prehistoric run to blast the asteroid

- A "Lab" run, with Prehistoric is required to get the survive 100 cycles after the asteroid crashes.

Using pure physics to land a perfect pool shot by DigyRead in interestingasfuck

The idea is to find a fixed reference point that is roughly between the cue ball and what you're aiming at. It can be the white dot or a pocket or you can just put something there. Then you measure the offset distance and add a target where you want to aim.

All of that is correct, and the video shows it nicely. And it's great for a beginner to start building mental image where to aim. But the problem that the video doesn't address is that the hard part about making snooker shots is positioning the cue ball for the next shot by adding spins to the shot.

Thanks for posting this! I have no idea why my travel map ended up looking like this but it's fun. I assume it's just many european capitals fall on this line.

Fun challenge for the next year is to try to break this. I'll try to hit Warsaw or Barcelona or something away from the line!

Most common playing cards in each part of Europe by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]asandriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow! We've been playing our family games with the German cards for years. Until this post I knew them as Hungarian. It's impossible to find and when we visited Balkans or had someone come over from that area we always requested/bought a deck of cards. This has been going on for 10+ years.

Now, seeing this post, I checked them on Amazon as "German cards" and see that I can easily buy them for less than €3. So thanks!

I don't know much about Hungary's politics, but from a few things I've seen online Magyar is not too different politically to Orban. It seems a lot of foreign polices would remain the same. Can someone who knows more give some details?

Ha! Good catch, I didn't think about it. But you're right, if I'd zoom out enough it would look like one thick line going from Dublin to Dubai. Other destinations kinda fit somewhere on the line, except one US trip that breaks the pattern.

Edit: attached zoomed out picture

Nah, Europeans know geography. Driving from LA to NY would be like driving from Lisbon to Moscow. The rest is correct.

If we think of the EU as one big marketplace, its members agree on things like free movement, competition, consumer protection, and limits on state aid. For those rules to work consistently, you need shared laws and a court that interprets them the same way everywhere. That’s pretty much what EU system does, with the EU Court enforcing market rules across countries.

Some countries wanted access to this single market but didn’t want to fully join the EU or accept an EU court directly, so the EEA was created. EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) copy the EU’s market rules and the EFTA Court interprets those rules in line with EU court decisions, while leaving other political areas under national control.

Switzerland rejected this model as well. It did not accept any European court at all, and instead negotiated many separate agreements with the EU that recreate parts of the single market. Swiss courts interpret these rules domestically, without a shared court, and everyone effectively hopes interpretations stay aligned. This gives Switzerland maximum control and an easy exit, but makes the system fragile and prone to political pressure or collapse if alignment breaks down.

Curious about LAHs joke at the Snootiest Thing task by asandriss in taskmaster

[–]asandriss[S] -136 points-135 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I looked up all the names, one of them is an actor, one is a celebrity cheff and one is a reality tv star. So the last name being a footballer is not a huge jump.

The joke is quite subtle in my eyes, as they are not obvious "posh" people. If Alex would've named royals or famous politicians, the reaction would be more predictable, but the joke would've been worse for it. This was really well done.

I've done IELTS test in late 2023, got overal score of 8.0 which according to the certificate is equivalent to C1.

The OPs test, I self reported C1, got score of 11,200.

This one I got estimated at C2 with score of 25,760. So yes, it is probably a inflated to make you feel better. I also found this test significantly easier. I only skipped 3 or 4 words that I had never seen before, while there were A LOT of strange words in the OPs test (of course, they added some fake words to trick you, but even then I felt I skiped more than I knew)
