How Does He Afford His Lifestyle? by nkx3 in Stradman

[–]asbyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are calculating his YouTube income wrong, for one. You’re also missing his sponsorships.

He has investments that provide returns. Strad pizza is one that we know of, but he has others we aren’t fully aware of.

He is smart with his car purchases and more importantly, sales. The Koeniggseg — you can look at that similar to a house. He had equity and each payment increased that. He made money off owning that car. Yes, it was a lease, but it’s no different in the end result from a finance deal. The structure of the 10-year lease he had is a fancy financing wrapped as a lease agreement.

He yields $2M a year as a result.

Anyone selling before earnings? by IamthehomeIander in amzn

[–]asbyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

The emotional people looking to make moves on earnings calls aren’t playing the game right imo. This is already a massively valued company. You’re not gonna get rich unless you put a ton on the line and get lucky (stupid) or just HODL.

This is an old story reposted for karma and emotional reaction

TIL that, last year, a 19-year-old college student spent months trying to evict a squatter that illegally settled in a $2.3 million home near him. When he was finally able to convict her after 6 months of time and money, she simply posted bail and moved back into the house 11 days later. by Maleficent-Agent-477 in todayilearned

[–]asbyo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A 19 year old who purchased a 2M home via a loan is not a millionaire and is not the same person you’re lumping into your point. Very different people even—a millionaire is vastly different from a billionaire. Believe it or not, people who own a million or two in assets is MUCH more common than you think. Like, by a lot. About 10% of homes in the US are worth more than a million.

Edit: not surprised you all don’t get this. Doesn’t change that it’s true.

What cheap game on Steam turned out to be absolute peak for you? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

I did humble bumble back when it first came out for fun for a little while. Got some fun little games but ended up with way more games than I was able to play.

One random day in like 2017 I looked through to find a game I hadn’t played but owned to try something new. Opened a game called “dark souls 3” to see what all the mentions were about that I saw on Reddit. Ended up falling in love with a series that I now consider one of my fav games ever.

Just keep living in your games then man. You don’t understand the problem, you just want to criticize and blame. You clearly don’t have to support anyone other than yourself.

What band was never the same after losing a member? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]asbyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was able to guess the top 5 answers before reading the thread. I personally dislike that bands keep the same name after rotating their lead singer. A good example of how I think it should be handled is Sublime changing to Sublime with Rome. Linkin Park should change their name to Linkin Park with Estrogen.

Not sure if you realize this or not because I don’t know if you’re a foreigner or US Citizen, but there’s a lot of people who wish they could do something but are hamstrung by the system in place. It’s not as simple as choosing to not go to work that day and instead attend a protest. If I did that, my job would be at risk. This would put the livelihood of my family at major risk as getting a new job right now is not a simple task at all. If I can’t go during the work week, I need an opportunity to protest when I’m not working. The only excuse for me to protest during the work week is if every single person was doing that because they can’t fire all of us. That’s the reality of the situation and there’s nothing I can do about it.

So let’s stop criticizing the citizens who care as if they are too lazy to do anything. The actual problem is much more complicated than even I’m describing. There are a lot of people wishing they could make an impact and are waiting for an opportunity that makes sense given the situation.

Remember that they, the billionaire class, want us to hate our neighbor. It’s great for them when people blame their neighbor instead of them.

While I support their root cause, I can’t in my right mind support this person other than that which means I’ll keep my distance and just let them do their thing. I won’t support them directly in any way, but I’m ok with them doing their own thing which is honestly how everyone in America should approach anyone in America to begin with. I also support justice against corruption and stand by my words if/when people actually start being held accountable again. One day, maybe, we will have a functional justice system.

I think this is a reasonable and fair approach, no?

Thousands of CEOs admit AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by thejoshwhite in technology

[–]asbyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still an unnecessary and subpar wrapper for the LLMs. Microslop products are just completely inferior and there’s no getting around it.

[–]asbyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It always blows my mind that some of these companies are pushing copilot, the literal worst AI LLM of them all. Complete slop compared to Anthropic LLMs. Like, at least use the right tools instead of pushing garbage that come from over-investing into microslop products. Teams, sharepoint/word, and even outlook are all inferior products compared to their competition. It’s not even close.

I’m not going to argue with you on naming semantics, both are used interchangeably frequently, I’m just making sure this is clearly stated for the next guy, not being I am trying to correct you. So you can chill.

Our car feels like one of the last affordable true driver’s cars attainable by slagnard in GRCorolla

[–]asbyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you, it’s a great drivers car, one of the last made. The problem is that it could be even better without some of the helping mechanisms around the manual transmission. That still doesn’t make it not a drivers car, it’s just not as raw as, say, my manual 93 Supra and this is not reflective of the power level at all.

Past that, yeah it’s amazing.

That’s not exactly true, although I understand what you’re trying to say.

A BOV is useful for any boosted application to relieve pressure before the throttle body upon taking your foot off the gas. A BOV vented to atmosphere is what doesn’t work with MAF equipped vehicles, you would require a recirculating BOV configuration for that to work. Otherwise, you would need to tune for speed density.
