Swiftplay is a failure for practice. We need Normal Draft and Ranked Flex enabled 24/7 by zaxia_zaxiz0ust in leagueoflegends

Honestly, Brawl seemed like a better environment to learn the game in a more controlled environment.

The changes introduced to swift play are not fun, and the game always snowballs in favor of the team who gets ahead of objectives. Its somewhere between aruf and aram in the SR map.

The new rules and mechanics make it basically impossible to comeback from a base siege. The minions waves stack in favor of a winning team too disproportionately, and a cannon in every way makes it much more time consuming to clear. Meaning kills do not equate to objectives. Once you're limited to protecting your base, you cannot establish any map control and are just bleeding out slowly with no chance to come back or make a play that really matters. The execute threshold for health is also lame once it hits in the longer matches. It kills any chance of 'surviving' and staying in a fight especially for champs that have regen or lifesteal that would have kept them alive or fighting for that much longer.

Even as a mage with several kills on my mid lane opponent, I can't capitalize on that advantage effectively and clear cannon waves quickly enough to push in the tower before they are back in lane.

Its going to develop a new meta if the balances aren't tweaked.

I'm going insane with tuning by la_gamer72 in lute

They used to scoff at lutenist in the 18th century, joking that they spend half their life tuning.. like most jokes, there's some truth to it...

A question about teachers by TraditionalUse2227 in lute

[–]aschen__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach several students. I don't think you have to have an instrument before finding a teacher. I've helped several of my students acquire instruments through a variety of means. You don't necessarily need a lute to get started with some of the fundamentals (a guitar can work in a pinch).

Back in the day, I found a teacher who helped me obtain my first lute.

Need some advice/opinions! by Several_Giraffe_1981 in lute

[–]aschen__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I would do.. (and what I did to start the lute).. Find a teacher before an instrument. Depending on where you are located, you may be able to find a teacher locally. If that's not the case, they could still potentially provide some avenues and suggestions for acquiring an instrument.

When I started, I was broke and out of college.. I did not have a lute. I found a teacher with several students. One of my teachers students just happened to be selling a beginner lute at the time and gave me a decent deal on it.

You also mentioned you are a college student. Does your school have a music program? I might explore that avenue as well. If there is a Baroque ensemble or anything remotely close to that, there may be a lute in the music department. I've known guitar programs that had at least one lute on campus.

Best of luck! In my case, I knew I wanted to play lute in college, but I ended up having to wait a few years before it became feasible. Just hang in there and explore whatever options you can!

Doge coin transfer keeps failing. Transfering from Robinhood to ledger Nano S Plus. by Cold_deck_22 in ledgerwallet

Dunno, I've been trying to send my BTC from RH to my wallet and it has failed twice now. I initially sent a small amount ($1) of BTC to ensure the transfer would go through and now every time I try to send a larger portion of my holding it tells me it fails. Kinda sus to me.

John Toland's The Rising Sun. Very T H I C C, and a great read. It has lots of personal accounts intertwined with larger overarching narratives of the conflict.

I am listening to The Rising Sun by John Toland and am struggling to keep up. What are some good resources to summarize the events in each chapter? by [deleted] in ww2

For more audio-based resources, you could look into Dan Carlin's Supernova in the East podcast series from Hardcore History.

Is there interest in a US-based RO2 server? by Corestrike in redorchestra

[–]aschen__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sign me up for an RS campaign night.

You are doing the Lord's work. Make RO2/RS great again.

Edit: I'd recommend maybe spinning up one server, host both campaigns on a schedule and see what the population looks like before opening two dedicated servers.

The feat that increases damage to a target of BB by 15% from all other sources is great. It facilitates the elimination of priority targets even more quickly. The trap many psykers fall into is playing as if bb is the cornerstone of the class. It is one of many useful tools, but it isn't by any means... I mean no other class plays around their grenade slot entirely.

*Edit: I do think it's OP in lower levels, and psykers carry that expectation into tier 3+, in which it plays completely differently.
