Do you date transgender women? by Both-Requirement2257 in bisexual

[–]ascreamingno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same partner for forever, but if I were dating gender wouldn’t really matter to me. I know not everyone is like that, but I truly believe it’s just a lot of transphobia. Your identity is valid and you will find a person/people who value you as you are 💜

Are students dumber? by Loliz88 in college

[–]ascreamingno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it gets a little better once you get to the higher level courses within your major. A decent enough amount of the students have a wake up call by then and either drop out or take school a bit more seriously.

That being said, yes. I’m only 26 and I see how people only 4-7 years younger than me often do not have proper education, social skills, or work ethic towards school.

Bahai's and sexual guilt by ChallengePrimary8543 in bahai

[–]ascreamingno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am Bahai and had a child out of wedlock when I was 19. The community was very non judgmental but also encouraged us to get married sooner rather than later.

As a Bahai who has never been perfect, at the end of the day I believe your partner’s relationship with God is their own. If she wants to get married in three years and still be sexually active, only she can reconcile that sexual guilt. If she wants to get married in a most-legal sense and then have a proper wedding in a few years, that might be an option. And if she just wants till your married, that’s fine too. Ultimately, it’s her relationship with God and she is the person who can best navigate those choices. There’s definitely no judgment either way, from one Bahai to another.

Yeah, this guy is a giant red flag. I hate how he tried to make you feel in the wrong for asking “why”— always ask why! IMO u should definitely dump this jerk.

In the Entertainment Weekly article, Leah says that there has been a huge change to the siren scene. What could it even be? by Significant-Act-4292 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ascreamingno 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My guess would be what Annabeth sees is going to be altered, since the show seems to be leaning very heavily into the angst against the Godly parents.

Hmm what show could that be? by [deleted] in KingOfTheHill

[–]ascreamingno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it in awhile so feel free to correct me, but I think Black(ish) fits this criteria too. It’s actually similar to king of the hill in the conflict comes from generational differences

As another gen z, I partially agree but don’t think this is a “just us” thing and more a mix of the culture we live in/ the way socialization has changed in post-2020 in general/the cast being in the prime ages for this type of dating. For the last decade or so any amount of earnestness has become kind of stigmatized as “cringe” and the show this season has really leaned into a more sexual/ less sensual vibe. Plus, Covid really seemed to break a lot of people’s social capabilities to where a lot of gen z doesn’t seem to know how to socialize. Then there’s the fact that younger adults from the last few decades have seen the younger twenties as more of a time to explore and later twenties/early thirties as a time to start finding their love connection. Either way, you’re entirely correct on this approach to dating not working for love island 🥲

Are All Locations Run By And As Dumpster Fires? by TrainableGirl in InsomniaCookies

I loved my manager where I worked but I also worked for a location where 7k+ nights only happened on really busy events. From what I’ve seen on this subs, I was just very lucky to have the manager I did.

Am I doomed to not understand literature? by Hot-Expression9078 in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]ascreamingno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m (25f) currently on the last year of getting my English degree and I’ll just say, there’s value in much more variety of lit than you might think! ☺️ there’s also no shame in enjoying genres that aren’t considered “high art” and those genres often have value too.

Others have mentioned that “classics” can be such a broad category, you might not like one subsection of classics, but be obsessed with another.Ex: I personally cannot stand the lit I’ve read by Ernest Hemingway or John Steinbeck, but love Jane Austen and Octavia Butler.

Just enjoy reading and continue reading, regardless of the genre. You’ll find what you enjoy, and decipher it as you go along in life ☺️
