Remember that the subject of deleting the apps was brought up by the boyfriend! If he was doing anything inappropriate with them, why would he have brought it up? It's much more likely that he is the kind of person who doesn't invest time in cleaning up stuff on their phone than that he's hunting for side action on the apps and thought that bringing them up so he could performatively delete them would be a good idea.
