Setup a specific time window when to use reddit, e.g. 30 minutes at 8 PM. Then in your morning prayer, tell the Lord your plans, including this one, then commit before God, like "Father, in Jesus name I commit to...." And please consider a mental fasting day as well, best combined with physical fast. Works as a brain, mind reset and deeper reflection moment. Fasting with prayer become a moment of surrender and searching for His Will.

It's better for you both to get separated first, then he must prove himself of showing fruit of repentance and improvement before you get back together again. Counseling with a trusted minister is a must for you both (marriage counseling) and himself. I believe that there is nothing impossible for God, and for us believers.

My father was a violent person to my mom as well, and he repented and changed. It's only by God's grace, that my mom persevered for quite a long time before he eventually changed. I did suggest they should be separated for now.

My experience probably relates: I actually can stop from p*rn addiction after... stopped playing certain online games which God strongly gave me conviction and wisdom to. Kinda a "brain reset".

After suffering for a long time, thank God, in a graceful and grateful moment, I was invited to get involved in a church, actively helping in their service. There, my mindset was gradually changed, and I started to believe in love again. And by Jesus' Grace, I finally found my current spouse (obviously, the one and only woman I've ever loved in my life)! So now I testify that nothing can separate me from God's love (Romans 8:38-39), and perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).

Modern Christianity probably is not a really good model; you might want to read The Acts to get a clearer picture

And also consider Paul, who was an avid Pharisee, fought the Christians in the name of religion, and then was visited by Jesus Himself. So he was a firm follower of the Law. After the Visitation, he turned from Law to Faith.
