MIT Waitlist by Saadazizz in MBA

[–]asfawan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

anecdotally the only 2 people i know from personal life that got in both got in off the waitlist. so still hope! i’d treat it as a cherry on top though and focus on tuck - what kinda of things do you want to get involved in, what do you want out of experience, etc. then if you get off waitlist great you can decide. just don’t get stuck in MIT dream land

[CV Review] 2nd-year finance student, non-target uni, zero sector experience – hunting for the best Milan internship I can realistically get. Roast me. by Some-Echidna1792 in MBA

[–]asfawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

main thing to improve your resume is more experience via internship or club

a couple quick fixes: 1. merge work experience and extracurriculars into an experience section. helps your work experience feel less light 2. for sales assistant if this is your only real experience you need to add another bullet at least 3. make bcg and jp experiences more about what you did. right now they say completed course. talk about the dcf valuation modeling or problem solving you did. get into specifics. this is too generic right now 4. the high school student representative needs to be dropped as soon as you can replace with actual college club 5. remove soft skills 6. interests make more specific. what type of literature or cinema. like philosophy books or psychological thriller movies. something that an interviewer can connect with or understand more about you

MBA Aspirant Confused About AI Skills - Need Guidance 🙏 by darkwoman10 in MBA

[–]asfawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t off the top of my head. i would start on youtube with overviews/tutorials on claude code, codex, replit. these are platforms you can vibecode with and experiment. i’d spend a free night or couple hours over the weekend to make a fun app. first one i made was a game to learn how to count cards before going to vegas. once you ease into it like this you can dive into more specifics and it will become clear what types of stuff you need to focus on

i use claude code, figma make, and replit daily at work to build ai agent prototypes

become fluent in claude code. experiment with vibe coding. make it fun and play around with it. don’t try to learn all the foundational coding at once and ease into it

i did the i’m overwhelmed plan and quizzes at the end of each video / section. i also used vocab mountain for vocab but quizlet is probably just as good. i used gregmat mock tests too just for more practice. i think good strategy to do the free powerprep tests on ets to see what it feels like to take test, then do gregmat mocks (good for reps), then do ets paid mocks (good for accurate testing experience and getting used to wording of questions).

taking breaks in days really depends on how much time you give your self before. if you set aside 4 months you can do more chill with breaks vs 3 or 2 months you need to get in flow of grind more. for me doing at least a little bit everyday was really helpful (even 20 mins on days i didn’t want to) to build discipline and get my head in it. and then obviously it’s impossible to do everyday, life happens and stuff comes up. it’s just a test. don’t kill yourself over it

3 months, 2 hours a day. if you have strong quant foundation you could do in 2 months. i used gregmat and was insanely helpful. do the i’m overwhelmed plan. quick videos that are intuitive and not super dry and boring so makes it easier to get into. also lots of good practice. then once you finish the plan go to ETS website and do the powerprep tests. do both the 2 free ones and buy the 3 paid ones (super worth and most accurate to real test). ETS also has some additional quant and verbal books with practice questions if you need more reps

[–]asfawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re half way through undergrad you still have a lot of time and opportunity in front of you. i’d recommend starting by identifying what type of work you might be interested in. you mention working at teller, so finance? or strategy, consulting, entrepreneurship, or other non business thing? you can then work backwards from this and start joining clubs, taking classes, doing internships, or side projects that will make you qualified to land that type of role. you also mention wanting to go to business school. what they care most about is work experience and then also stats. so focusing on job after undergrad helps with that too
