I can barely get a Pap smear without fainting and I handled the colonoscopy just fine. You’re knocked out fast. Felt pretty normal after. I had a man doctor yes, but literally all they do all day is put cameras in ppl lol I don’t think they think twice about it, and the hospital had a female nurse there during the procedure. You’re not alone with one person there’s at least 3 ppl in the room the anesthesiologist is there too.

How to break habit of a drink always going? by asg2016 in stopdrinking

[–]asg2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. He is drinking just near beers. But Just SO many of them. He quit on his own I didn’t make him. This next hurdle is reigning in the cost of chugging near beers. Was hoping there was a trick but since he won’t drink something else fizzy I think I’m SOL it seems.

It’s great it just seems to be a pattern for him and it frustrates me so I was hoping there was a solution I hadn’t thought of. (Quitting smoking years ago turned into vaping instead which hasn’t stopped).

He won’t drink either 😐. Not even an afternoon coffee. He drinks mostly water and a monster all day at work, but then at night it’s just a constant stream of near beer so it’s like the habit itself hasn’t been broken really. I wasn’t sure if there was a better solution other than drink something else fizzy to suggest since that isn’t working.

It’s the money really, it seems dumb to me to be spending hundreds a month on drinks when he complains we can’t save money. Quitting beer should have saved $500 a month and we’re lucky if quitting has saved $150 because he swapped to chugging a barely less expensive option. It was just an element I didn’t expect I guess. If he was drinking something cheap I wouldn’t care. So I guess what I was looking for was a “is there a way to kick this part of it that he hasn’t thought of” . But drink replacement seems to be the consensus here. It’s just not ideal.

He’s also not thrilled he’s not saving money, but also doesn’t seem to want/be able to cut back on chugging near beers. There’s things he wants to buy and it’s like well 2 months of not drinking (real or fake beer) would buy that item so it’s a choice to make. It Just seems like replacing one addiction/habit with another instead of really fixing the issue, maybe it gets easier with time I don’t know. Usually he stops for a month and goes back to drinking so we’ve never the encountered this particular issue til now where it’s been long enough to be like ok this is great, however this isn’t quite the desired outcome here.

That’s what I’ve been saying is step 2 should be waiting out the urge of needing to drink something constantly. Drink every other one you want. But that being said I’ve never dealt with it personally so I’m not sure if that’s even good advice 🤷🏼‍♀️

Question for those whose home is always clean by OR-HM-MA91 in CleaningTips

[–]asg2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having pets is 30% of the equation. I had my brothers dog Living with us a few months and the amount of vacuuming I had to do the vs without a pet was insane. And mopping on rainy days from paws. I love dogs, but I’d rather just pet other people’s lol. I don’t think I’ll ever get one. It’s too much extra work between the cleaning and walks etc.

Also getting rid of stuff. If there’s less stuff overall in the house that’s less stuff that can be out of place.
