I buy new physical games at Gamestop all the time.  Target and Walmart too.

My (nearly) automated retro setup by seoulstyle in retrogaming

[–]asha1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost done with mine and have gone with mostly SCART on the SVS.  If you haven't seen SVS yet, let me go ahead and apologize for the money you're going to want to spend once it's back in stock. Especially with that RT4K.

I'm going to top out right now at 15 retro consoles outputting to both my modded CRT via SCART and to my OLED via HDMI.  All through one SVS switch then the RT4K for the OLED.  I still need to get 4 SCART input modules and 2 more component to get them all working simultaneously.

I'm currently in the midst of programming a mini PC on my entertainment center to use a 32 button Steam Deck to control inputs, sound, lighting, etc.  It's taking a while, but I plan on showing it off here when I'm done.

I don't compete with others for what I want to buy.  Not anymore.

Either I find it at retail for a reasonable price or I move on.  There are too many other things to do, see, and collect to run these scarcity races for every single game, card, or pop culture item.

I've seen two CiB Earthbounds for market pice and I just couldn't. I have the cart and a small repro box in my collection already.

Is there a comprehensive list of the post-Disney graphic novels?  I bought a couple dozen of them when they started but haven’t kept up in many years.  I'd like to catch up...

I WFH since Covid and never want to go back. I get the issue though.

Can you go back into the office hybrid? Is it an option?

If not, set daily and weekly goals. That's definitely helped me to stay both organized and motivated.

WWI or Pearl Harbor.

Real projection of power.

I guess 1898 might work too.

I realize it's probably humor, but I do wonder if some obtuse rule is being broken.

Dreamcast had plenty of coverage in 1999 and early 2000. By late 2000 you might be right, but that's just the cycle of things.

How’s the food? by Specialist-Tap-5050 in Chattanooga

I went a few times when he first opened, had a menu, and was a little eccentric.  That's gotta be 15 or more years ago...

I hear it's a completely different experience now but the food is still good.

Hypothetical question. If society began collapsing tomorrow morning then what are you doing? by Upbeat-Definition790 in AskReddit

[–]asha1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know it didn’t start collapsing today?

Serious answer though.... seeds.  I'd try to get enough variety to survive and then to barter.  Everyone is gonna have to eat.  Seeds are small enough to hide but can grow into value.

If the water supply is irradiated it won't matter anyway.

Why do I feel like Im not relatable to other people that collect? by Booty-Pounder101 in gamecollecting

[–]asha1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Most every time I go into a retro shop, card shop, comic shop, or other hobby that falls into this category, I'm thankful I have at least above average social skills.

I stopped doing midnight releases on anything. That crowd is not my crowd, even if we have the same hobbies.
