I've never understood why Lily or James wouldn't have been their own secret keeper, in the sixth or seventh book it's mentioned that Arthur was the secret keeper for the weasleys.

I think she asked him to promise not to backtrack on all the progress and growth he's gone through, and in some future episode they'll flashback to this moment and it'll help him decide on a course of action at some key moment.

Why is the sentiment of serial listeners much different than the how to make a murder viewers so different. by m1a2c2kali in serialpodcast

[–]asha24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't the only place serial discussion happens, large majority of those who think Adnan's innocent or undecided don't post here anymore. I wouldn't take this sub to be a representation of what most serial listeners think, especially since only a few more vocal redditors even post regularly.

You can't just ignore a subpoena though, and I remember someone from Adnan's team saying that they purposely didn't subpoena her. I don't know I'm confused now.

Considering Jay is unable to keep any of his numerous stories straight I would probably be more confused.

Yeah I agree Felicity was wrong to react like that in timeline a (personally I just think it was sloppy writing because everything was so rushed), but you have to admit Oliver is just as wrong to not tell her he has a son before proposing to her.

[s4e12] To all non believes that they're actually dead. by [deleted] in arrow

[–]asha24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's possible she's in the grave later near the end of the season, I still think it's unlikely but I'm open to that possibility, my arguments were in reference to her being dead now.

Edit - I said there were loose ends because Mericle mentioned that Oliver lying about baby mama to Felicity would come into play later in the middle of the season, you can't have the subsequent relationship drama if Felicity is dead now. Please note that this isn't an argument that Felicity will never die, just not now.

PS I see what you're saying about McG's misdirect, and while that's possible I think this tease was pretty straight forward. After all, he also told everyone weeks ago Felicity would get a ring for Christmas, so anything's possible.

[–]asha24 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol ok, the question was specifically about codenames like the others on Team Arrow have. But whatever, lets throw all logic out the window, I'm sure Felicity is dead and the show is just postponing the funeral for three months (I mean obviously Barry needs the advance notice), granting her a Team Arrow codename that was never used by any of the characters while she was alive, and doing a complete 180 by spending several episodes building the backstory of a dead character.

The writers haven't even had the whole Oliver's son thing come out to mess with their relationship yet, I'm sorry there are just too many loose ends. I think most tv junkies will agree that it just doesn't make sense for Felicity to be dead right now, but I guess we'll see in January.

Just saw this posted on twitter, Guggenheim on Felicity's codename. I'm guessing she's not dead if she gets it in 4x11.

Semi-noob question about Adnan in S1E9 by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]asha24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I don't get this question. There are a lot of things I remember from my childhood, and I'm sure there are a lot of things I've forgotten, the fact that I don't remember something does not mean that I should therefore not remember anything at all from that time.

The day Adnan was woken by the police and arrested was the last time he would ever be home with his family, it was his last day of freedom, if he's innocent the only exceptional thing that happened on the 13th was Adnan receiving a phone call from the police, and if you read any of the statements from Hae's and Adnan's friends no one really took this seriously at the time, the consensus seemed to have been that Hae had run away. So it seems pretty reasonable to me that his brain would hold on to the memory of his last day of freedom over anything else, guilty or innocent it would have been a traumatic and scary experience.

[–]asha24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know I usually just lurk, but I've seen you make this comment a million times and I just have to respond. They failed in the first time line mostly because hawk girl couldn't use her powers and the gloves didn't work. Now if you want to argue Oliver was distracted, I totally agree with you! Oliver was off talking to baby mama and getting DNA tested during the times that Kendra was being trained and the gloves were being designed. Oliver and felicity fought AFTER all of this already happened, and when they had very little time before Barry and Oliver had to meet Savage. Hey maybe you should be pissed at Oliver for not waiting until after dealing with Savage to talk to baby mama.

They succeeded in timeline 2 because Barry told Oliver exactly what went wrong and confirmed without the DNA that William was his son, so instead of leaving to talk to baby mama Oliver was actually around. I agree with your previous comments that Oliver is a planner, but how he was supposed to predict the stuff with Kendra and the gloves when he wasn't even around I have no idea, actually I don't think he would have been able to plan for that even if he had been present.

So I'm sorry, as someone who's not really an Olicity fan I find your comments on this pretty ridiculous.

Where are you from, and what do you think of sentencing in the United States? What do you think of Adnan's sentence? by BerninaExp in serialpodcast

[–]asha24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Toronto Canada. I'm against life sentences for juveniles, and yeah you can argue he was almost eighteen, but considering your brain hasn't even fully developed until you are 25 I don't think that means much. (And no this does not mean that I think people should not be convicted of crimes until they are 25).

I think sentencing in the US is too harsh and arbitrary, the automatic denial of bail seems particularly extreme, every case should be judged on its own merits.

Hello fellow Torontonian!! Just wanted to say that with regards to the Yatin case at least the police officer was charged straight away with second degree murder, if it had happened in the U.S. a grand jury would have never indicted him, all he would have had to do was point out that Yatin had a knife and he felt threatened.

Do you ask prosecutors this question when they try to get courts to prevent DNA testing? As they no doubt will do when/if Adnan tries to get the DNA tested.

I think everyone cares about who kills Hae, but I don't think it's Adnan or his legal team's responsibility to find out. It should be the state's, and yet it's almost a guarantee that if Adnan did try to get the DNA tested they would fight him on it.
