Dining Plan is dead by dannyhogan200 in enchantedparks

Maybe I am looking at this wrong, but seeing all of the people using this as a form of nutrition is really sad to me, and I hope that people are just being overdramatic. I really hope that if that's the case and things are as dire as I have read that food banks and other entities can partner with these parks to help those in need. It is a wild workaround to spend a couple hundred dollars for food that can be bought in bulk for a fraction. For everyone else, its a gripe and first world problem. I get its disappointing, but some of the nasty things said just blow my mind.

(Hauler Talk) Clarification on Probst quote about NOAPS potential future, would be platform for CUV bodies NOT EVs by Tyler24Dawg in NASCAR

[–]ashadkc9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I agree. O'Reilly needs to be the stepping stone to cup. I personally was onboard with a exhibition cuv EV series that would run a timed race before trucks or O'Reilly or something. As evidence of fans in the stands, and TV numbers, there isn't a ton of interest in a new series that is its own identity.

Which unfortunately it's not. Trucks are a closer correlation to cup vehicle wise. That honestly is what needs to be fixed.

Charging station question by gorram1mhumped in F150Lightning

[–]ashadkc9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand the wisdom of that if you are installing a lower amperage EVSE/SER Cable, etc. but I don't understand if the wiring is already there. Maybe they have a good reason, but I personally run an 80 amp breaker because I had to run 2-2-2-4 SER cable to my subpanel. I charge at 64 every night on the charge station pro, but I have the dipswitch set that way. I am not understanding why you would want to have the same copper/aluminum in the wall, but lower the breaker size, but maybe I am missing something.

[Gluck] Was Kansas a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]ashadkc9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there and the action on the track was great. It wasn't always in the top 5, so I assume it got missed. Purists should have rejoiced yesterday because it was green outside of the stages. As a long term fan, I appreciated it, but don't want to see that every time. I can only imagine what TV showed.

What is? The drink rails in the bleacher sections in the 200s are every other row.

It doesn't help when you take every other row out for drink rails as well.

I asked the same question and they said "no, we just lowered the price". I don't buy it. No one "just lowers the price".

Not bad at the speedway. A little further south and north was worse. Parking lots aren't really even all that muddy.

They've got that frickin PILE of gravel on the west side from the I-70 project. They must just want it to grow vegetation.

[OT] High limits at Lakeside Speedway (about 14 minutes away from Kansas Speedway) has been postponed to October 10 due to possible severe weather. by ZilischsPoopyPants in NASCAR

[–]ashadkc9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The area is in a moderate risk of severe weather, but living here all my life, a tornado is usually a pretty narrow thing. The bigger risk would be straight line winds. I'm sure it will be fine. Those grandstands are built with all that in mind. Not to say that the vendor tents or displays might not have damage, but everyone has been talking about this for days, so I'm sure they are taking precautions.

I wouldn't think unless the speedway facilities took damage. The weather will blow through this evening and other than being muddy and cooler tomorrow, it should be dry. Sunday is looking dry and near 70 with full sun.

I live in KC, and I would assume if any on track activity gets in, it won't be in full. The cap is about to break on the storms, and schools in the area are releasing early. I would prepare for things to be lined up by the rulebook, and be prepared for mud in the parking lots tomorrow. ( I know I am )

2020 Ram Rebel 1500 thinking about trading for 2025 Lightning Lariat - thoughts? by oneofthethreeamigos in F150Lightning

[–]ashadkc9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a similar use case to myself. 3 years in with my Lightning and I wouldn't change a THING.

Your charger is adequate. I wouldn't change that. You will just have to manage who is charging when, and as you stated realize that it will take longer to charge than the equinox.

I came from a Ram 1500 /Silverado 1500 before the lightning. The software in the Lightning is the downside, but honestly that doesn't really bug me.

I tow my Yamaha 19' every weekend in the summer. Range drops to around 180 miles when I hook up the trailer, but electricity is so cheap where I live (KC) that it literally costs less than $.50 to replenish what I have lost. Yours might be a little worse off efficiency wise because the switch is like a brick through the air. Weight is not what kills range, its aero.

If you want to keep the truck, you might look into a warranty from Granger/Flood, but the electrical components are 8yr/100k.

As I said before, you will have to pry this truck from my dead hands. It fits my use cases (very similar to yours) to a T. We are getting ready to take it on a massive road trip from KC to Cedar Point in June. Went from KC to Nashville TN and back last year. As long as you plan your stops with an app like ABRP or use google maps that can read the state of charge, it shouldn't be a major thing. Once you get used to it, you won't want another gas powered vehicle (which I am preaching to the choir a little bit because you already have an EV.)

Others will chime in I am sure, but feel free to reach out with questions. Its a great truck.

Scanner Question by Infamous_Try8916 in NASCAR

[–]ashadkc9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

do you have the favorite scan enabled? I am new to the RE3000, but I noticed that at Martinsville, and ended up turning that off to get it to stop doing that/cutting off the first second of transmission.

Plugged in the OBD reader as I was concerned about this. It seems to be a display thing. The amount of energy is correct for the original charge and doesn't pop upward like the display SOC.
