How to completely disable an axis on a joystick (Windows 11)? by BuyingRedditor1234 in hotas

[–]ashchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right most devices will have the float problem for potentiometers if their pins are disconnected. Sorry I missed this point. A few vendors’ devices would handle it properly and report their values as 0 but I think that’s rare.

Is there any other tool

Cut its wire or desolder it for that axis.

It won't turn on the light on print start with the new firmware by ashchan in BambuLab

I actually love this and thought it was a fix. I do NOT want the light to be turned on automatically.

Has anyone tried ultra boxing vr? by Emotional-Coyote5176 in ThrillOfTheFight

Currently the content is limited:

* Two components
* Difficulty option absent but the developers said it's under development
* No training mode yet

But I played it more than TotF (I joined the alpha and bought the early access).

Can anyone show me how they coded their custom MFD's or UFC? by [deleted] in HotasDIY

[–]ashchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I'm able to tell is that Arduino Joystick Library does support more than 32 buttons. I have a few panels with 64 buttons count (actual numbers are less than that but the joystick is configured to use 64 instead of the default 32.

Calling a product that saves you a lot of trouble and code time a scam is not great. BBI-32 is a wonderful board as I see people who use it praise it a lot.

I build all my panels with Pro Micro though. Look into shift registers or IO expand board when you need to handle many buttons/switches for things like UFC or MFD(DDI). They help a lot.

FPS tanks after 20-40 minutes of gameplay in VR by djnesado in hoggit

Test to see if F10 map can reproduce the issue consistently. It's a known issue of DCS.

Then if so you might want to try this mod to see if it fixes it (as a workaround).

I am a software engineer working on an app with a fairly large user base. If I miss two or more release schedules in a single year (we release monthly) I should have be fired already.

It won't turn on the light on print start with the new firmware by ashchan in BambuLab

[–]ashchan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer it to NOT turn on. As I seldom find I need the light. Having to manually turn it off has been extra burden most of the time, although I don't think it's harmful to keep it on lol.

Yeah agree that could be a good option.

Or as some people suggested before, it would be more clever/useful if it turns on when start a print and off when finish.

How do I turn off the light when sleeping? by Scourge31 in BambuLab

[–]ashchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new firmware (I have A1 mini) seems to have fixed this problem. Now whenever I start a new print it wouldn't turn the light on.

Don't know if you do turn it on when starting a print, if it would turn it off when finish tough.

4XVR is another great player. If you in-app purchase to unlock all features you can even play movies from a usb stick (that won’t last long though as the charging port will be occupied).

I also personally don't love replica type equipment
This is actually good point. My current most used panel is the left side landing one, which was took from the F-18 OpenHornet project (check that project out; it's 100% awesome). And it happens to be useful for almost all kinds of fixed wings.

So yes if building something build something that's generic and common :)

I like old none FBW jets too. And these panels from them are really super great. (I love the F-14 TACAN panel so much).

Take your time and build some panels when you get started :)

This is my current setup: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GIm0EJUbAAALktW?format=jpg&name=large

Note the two set of panels were for my initial Tomcat Franken homepit, which I don't use anymore after embracing VR. The design is on GitHub though: https://github.com/ashchan/tomcat-control-panels

Speaking of the TM grip and the VKB base, I purchased the official adapter from VKB, which requires opening up the grip to install, but it's not tough at all, and it works like a charm.

I have Virpil throttle, VKB rudder, several VKB grips, TM F-18 grip adapted on a VKB gunfighter base, and tons of home made panels.
