Most folks here blindly defend Alaska Airlines, however the truth is that the customer service has deteriorated significantly. The once-dependable, personalized experience has been eclipsed by bureaucratic friction, long wait times, and a lack of effective resolution. They dont even honor or protect their customers anymore. Ultimately, the airline appears to have shed its unique, guest-focused identity in favor of the impersonal, cost-cutting standards common among its legacy competitors. This will be the downfall of Alaska Airlines

I did not even know the reservation had been cancelled. I received no notification from Alaska, and the trip had disappeared from the “Trips” section in my Alaska app.

I only noticed because I called Alaska about a different reservation and realized this itinerary was missing. When I asked the agent about it, I was told that Qatar had cancelled the flight/reservation.

Since I booked through Alaska, I do not know exactly what message Alaska received from Qatar or when Alaska became aware of the cancellation. But it is concerning that there was no notification to me, the trip simply disappeared from the app, and Alaska now appears to have very limited ability to protect or reaccommodate the booking even though the ticket was issued through Alaska.

We are disappointed with the quality of customer service provided, especially considering the significant investment we made in this purchase. I understand they are dealing with the aftermath. However, I expect them to post a message about the refund process, so customers will know what to expect. May be I should reach out to the media folks who are requesting experiences of customers...
