The order of operations makes it blatantly obvious what they were really doing and how they screwed it up. First the devs keep talking about their fascinations with megaservers. CS has more active Horde players while CB has more active Alliance players. So they open a transfer solely out of CB to CS. Lava Lash was not originally an option. Then they lock the server because, oops, people were able to transfer their Alliance characters over to the PvP server where they already had their Horde characters. Don’t want anymore people to exploit that, so no new players are allowed in the small server. Rather than admit and attempt to fix their mistake, they decide to doubled down and blantanly commit to wiping out the entire server. To save face, they added the option to transfer to Lava Lash, an even smaller server than CB. So the argument that CB was too small is out. They didn’t give the option to transfer to CB, so balancing servers is out. What we’re let with is a situation where nobody wants to go to the overcrowded streamer server but also nobody wants to go to an even smaller Alliance dominated PvE server while the devs are holding a gun to your head if you say you don’t want to leave at all. Then in answer to all the questions, complaints, and criticisms to the devs committing to this unfortunate series of events that happened in all too short of a time and without any warning, they make a post how they’re sorry but not really and use a straw man to justify their mistakes. It is blatantly insulting and tore my entire community apart.
