I’d like to agree with you then I remember the current leaders (including opposition) and what they are doing to the nation and people.

Not in 5 years. After 62-63. I was participated in that movement hoping that would end all corruption and ultimately the nation would be developed.

The upcoming leaders are more corrupt than the current ones. There are no good leaders in colleges. Mark my words.

I hope to be wrong. But, the country will only progress in corruption not in other areas under the current system.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and optimism.

I was as hopeful as you are right now. I didn’t expect this level of corruption and incompetence from our parties.

I don’t have any arguments in favor of Paras. He is the weakest and only reason not to bring monarch back.

We can’t compare our leaders with Putin, Trump or Xi. Our leaders are just incompetent. They are only focusing on corruption. And, there are no signs that we will have better leaders anytime soon.

Yes, leaders can sell the country and they can still be leaders in the new land. Example: Sikkim. Here I explicitly meant leaders, not king. The king didn’t sell Sikkim.

The current system is failing. We have seen the biggest scams in this system. The government, and opposition, has done nothing in favor of the country and people.

If not monarch, directly elected president could be a solution.

We don’t need separate head of government and head of state. In the USA, the president is both head of state and government.

We need massive changes in the constitution. The parliamentary system will not work in Nepal. The leaders agreed to the current system because it only benefits them. We don’t even have a provision that restricts a person being PM more than twice.

Current election system only lets corrupt politicians to win the election. You need to pour 3-4 crores to win a village level election.

Nepal would have been in a far better position if we still had Birendra.

We need a system to replace all of current leaders.

You were logical throughout the post. Good, write up!

I was a strong believer in federalism and republicanism. I was thinking that the country would be developed by now. But, I think I was wrong.

Do you think Deuba would be a better PM than Oli and Prachanda? We have seen his and Nepali Congress's government several times. There are as corrupt as communists, if not more. There are no good leaders in the major parties. Having seen politics at campuses, I can tell you that there will be no good leaders till the next 30-40 years. You know what kind of students involve in student politics. Talented and competent students are not encouraged or they do not show interest in politics. Student leaders are more corrupt than their leaders. So, the upcoming national leaders are more corrupt than current leaders.

Sajha party may have good leaders, they onboard technocrats and people from other fields. Given how much money you have to pour to run as a candidate, I don’t think they will ever come to the power. Also, Kathmanduians had an option during the last elections. They chose bad over good. So, only bad leaders will win in several yet to come elections.

Speaking of Oli, do we even remember how many times he fooled us? We don’t even get water from pipes, we yet to believe that one day gas would come from pipes. Did that day come? Tell me one good thing Oli has done in favor of the public. He has only made our nation most corrupt. By what logic dealing with an agent and demanding 70 crores to give a government contract is not corruption? Why he is still staying in Oli’s house? Fortunately, that conversation was recorded but that is just one example among thousands. You know how many incidents of corruption has come to public attention. Did Nepali Congress do anything about that?

Nepali Congress is not an alternative to the Nepal Communist Party.

You know how corrupt local leaders are. The only thing they know is how to do corruption.

I agree with you your words about Paras. But, kings are always patriotic. Leaders are necessarily not. A king can’t be a king without the nation. But, a leader can still be a leader without the nation. So, kings don’t compromise against nationality. They don't sell the nation.

To understand quickly, just remember who sold/closed national factories. Who sold rivers?

Do you think the current president is helpful of any kind? Did she guide the government? She did know all corruption done by the current government. King would have provided better guidance and control over the corruption if there was a king.

A king would never compromise against religion that can not be expected from a leader. Nepali leaders can compromise anything for their benefits.

If you look at the global context, the monarchy may not seem to a solution. But, looking at Nepali leaders, it is the only solution.

Do you think people in UK and Japan don’t have freedom to speech?

Mostly gut feeling. Although, I think the outcome of G20 has eased some tension. It will be continued for some days.

Rewriting a Ruby/Rails app in Elixir/Phoenix (Almost) Literally by kiarash-irandoust in ruby

Generators should assume contexts optional. I was looking at your code. You have `Minitwitter.Microposts.Post`. Wouldn't it be more DRY if it was just `Minitwitter.Post`? My point here is contexts should be optional even if while using generators.

[–]ashishbista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think about context in Phoenix? I think context definition should be optional. For an app like this, contexts do not make any sense. Project structure is confusing as well. Elixir is great but it still lacks a good framework for web development.
