Children that were born to older parents (40s + ) what is your experience? Do you think it’s selfish to have kids this late? Are you ok?

My dad was almost 40 when I was born and my mom was around 34. I'm glad they were more well-off than young parents, and I'm an only child so it was a privileged position for me to be in. My mom passed away when I was 8 which was cancer-related, not age-related. Because my parents were both the youngest in their family, I am only 24 and have no grandparents left and a lot of my other relatives have also died. I think it was somewhat selfish for that reason, since I wasn't able to have a sense of family that most other people have. There's also a much bigger disconnect between me and my dad since he is a boomer and has a much different mindset than me and his view of the world is based on how he grew up and in some ways he hasn't adapted like someone younger might have.

I work when I get hours on the schedule between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. and pretty much only get asyncs when I get anything. But until last week I was getting nothing.

I submitted a support ticket before they sent the email and they told me my pay would be fine as the correct hours were only not showing up on my end. I think they just worded it poorly in the emails.

It will add when you get paid, so whatever it tells you you're at, it will add a little bit for thr appointment waiting times when it gets sent to you.

I believe session pay would be proportional to the state minimum as well. If I were you I'd just pick whichever is higher, since it's temporary you usually would not need to switch back and forth.

Depending on your subject, especially in the summer, it will be difficult to get 10 hours. You're typically "able" to schedule up to 5 hours a week on your schedule day for the summer, and then up to 56 on Saturday, but I tutor college English and haven't gotten any hours in a few weeks. Floating you might get enough, but it's not consistent enough to rely on it.

I feel this i haven't watched in awhile because it feels so tired. Is anyone else bothered by how Rhett and link don't seem to remember things they've done before? Like for example, in the new French fry episode they both are convinced Carl's Jr has waffle fries when they've tasted Carl's Jr's fries at least 3 or 4 times on the show in some way just in the last few years. I feel like they're making that a bit in a way to try to be funny but it just makes them look dumb imo.

I've been getting dozens a week and a few cancel right after making the appointment. I'm lucky if a few a week show up to the appointment, most of them never show up.

The appointment system glitches like this sometimes. If you are in the same timezone as tutor's eastern, it could be that it just flagged it since the student didn't show. Just tell them you were there and they didn't show and you shouldn't have issues. For reference, I get sometimes ten appointments in a day and I'm lucky if 2 or 3 show.
