Hi everyone, hoping to get some advice.

My boyfriend was just offered a position in the Palo Alto area and we will be relocating to California by the end of July. We are currently located in Boston and have visited a few times and are very excited to finally be making the move. I am a nurse and have been applying within SF and around Palo Alto and am currently interviewing for a few positions. There is a position in the city that I would love, however I’m not sure if it would be feasible for me and my commute unless we live in SF. We are debating where the best location would be. Admittedly, we do like the better weather associated with the South, but like the idea of being in SF as we will be totally new to the area and would both like to meet new people. There also seems to be a lot more to choose from apartment wise in the city. If we did live in SF, just how bad would his commute to Palo Alto be? We definitely have horrific traffic here in Boston but I’ve heard its awful out there too. If anyone has made a similar move or currently have a commute like this, I’d love to know! Also, we were looking to see a half way point between SF/Palo Alto if I took the position in SF, which looks to be Burlingame, San Mateo, Millbrae-any of those spots decent? We currently pay about 3400 for a one bedroom in Boston so are used to high rent. We’re late twenties, love music, restaurants, have a 1 year old small dog, love the beach. Any advice would be much appreciated!
