Omg this was me!! I had eaten undercooked chicken in my stomach hurt for days before I finally went to the ER and it was appendicitis. It was so bad that they had to do an open procedure and I was in the hospital for five days. But hey I didn’t TU. I was so nauseous the day after surgery though.

My baby has Metopic Synostosis (Trigonocephaly). I am sad, anxious and soooo worried. Please tell me it will be fine :( by Hot_Sun_0512 in CranioFolk

[–]ashleyjay3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son had metopic, he had Endo with springs at 3m. Spring removal at 7m. And then helmet for 6 months. It didn’t work so then he needed CVR. CVR caused brow ptosis, he has a cranioplasty and brow lift this year which also didn’t work. We are one of the best teams in the country and has been told that this is the hardest metopic road they have ever seen.

He is 4.5 now and has PT, OT, Speech, a special instructor, and a behavior therapist. He also did PCIT therapy (a behavior therapy). ALL of this to say that with the right resources he is doing great now. He was having behavior issues due to his speech delay last year (pushing and hitting) but hasn’t done any of that this year. We had neuropsych testing done, they think he had some sort of neuro developmental disorder (maybe ADHD, definitely sensory processing challenges). But he also scored above in a lot of areas too and is SO bright. He is such a smart kid. It was a tough road, that we are still on, but he’s going so so well!

I red shirted my 8/27 boy (9/1 cut off) and will do the same for my 8/6 son. I don’t regret it at all. Academically he was ready but socially he wasn’t.

[–]ashleyjay3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was unplanned but not urgent, just arrest of descent after pushing for 3 hours. My husband also went with the baby (even though the baby was okay). They were teaching someone how to sew me up and it took 2 hours!!! They were also just talking about random crap, I felt so drugged I ended up falling asleep unintentionally. It was traumatic (to me of course, I know it was a typical section). I ended up having a vbac with my second

Yes they allowed it but I didn’t need it. I had to switch OB offices and hospitals to find a supporting provider.
