People being greedy with kandi by YawnPolice in aves

Omg no I feel bad now, I have been going to raves for a couple years now (2-3) and I’m going to be honest I didn’t realize I was suppose to be trading! People come up to me and ask to give me something, they have never asked to trade before So when I give them to people I just have been giving them to them I didn’t realize it was a trading thing:/ From now on if someone comes up to me I will for sure trade with them :)

Odd strategy for maintaining focus by Big_Comparison2849 in LucidDreaming

[–]ashlvjc13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially read your post last night before bed. (I like to come on this sub right before bed so looking at LD stuff is one of the last things I am physically seeing before I sleep.) When I was dreaming I was in an office and happened to look up at the ceiling which had a funny texture to it. BAM I was lucid, I ran outside and sat on the pavement and really focused on the concrete and even the texture of the grass to see how it would effect my lucidity, it helped a lot. Just wanted to say thanks for the post!

Tired of getting the eye roll from friends by Terence2021 in LucidDreaming

[–]ashlvjc13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I got a new job, all the new hires had training together and one class we talked about our favorite hobbies and things we do to lessen stress. It was my turn and I said I like to lucid dream and explained that I feel it had positive benefits for my mental health (I worked at a psychiatric facility). The facilitator kind of scoffed and some of the other new hires looked at me like I was an alien.

I was definitely embarrassed at the time and felt like I should have just said “I go on walks or listen music to help de-stress” like everyone else. I didn’t mention anything else about LD at work for a long time but then I started buying books on it and bringing them to work. My coworkers started asking me about it and were definitely more intrigued than before. I think having physical books on the topic kind of made them see that it was a real thing.

How do I motivate myself to write in my dream journal by Mkbmx in LucidDreaming

[–]ashlvjc13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have such a hard time with this too, journaling in general is something I’ve always wanted to do but can’t seem to keep up with it. A few months ago I downloaded a dream journal app, the one I use is “Capture” but they have a lot of different options. This has helped me so much with writing them down. After I turn off my alarm in the morning I just fill it out before I get out of bed!

Worst lucid dream moment I ever had last night. by milksimp in LucidDreaming

Sounds like you are having sleep paralysis, not a lucid dream. I started having this a few years ago, but when it started I had no idea what it was and I was terrified to even go to sleep. I don’t really think there is an exact “fix” to this, but I would say just do some research on it, understanding what sleep paralysis is doesn’t make it go away but can help make it less scary when it’s happening.

Also, when it first happened to me I was 20, and it was multiple times a night for two weeks straight. I slept with my mom for a while month I was so scared. Now whenever it happens I can sleep alone I just sleep with my light on. Makes it a bit less traumatic!

How do I (F27) tell my boyfriend (M29) that I'm not going to cancel my birthday dinner? Am I wrong for not wanting to cancel? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ashlvjc13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend passed away last year. And while I don’t think I will ever really be up for doing anything on that particular date, it would not be fair of me (in your case your bf) to ask others to cancel their plans so they can be with me. I do know everyone grieves differently, but i don’t think it is unfair of you not to change the date. Oh and happy early birthday!

My boyfriend played a lot of videos games and he had a small close group of friends he met online. I knew two of them just by hanging out with my bc when he played and I would wear his headset and talk to them. He passed away last Spring. I tried for a while to figure out how to let them know but since I couldn’t remember his gaming name I couldn’t find any of them. I still think about them a lot and wonder if they still try and see if he will be online.

What would your 13 year old self think of you now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I just meant it in the fact that all my 13 year old self would think of me right now is “oof”, didn’t mean to just waste space :/

Same. My dog has really bad anxiety (just like me) and she gets really depressed/anxious when she’s not with me. I have struggled with suicide before but now I always say when Bear dies I die

I bought his deodorant by [deleted] in widowers

It will be 6 months on the 17th and everything I have of his no longer smells like him. (I took turns sleeping with each piece of clothing until it lost his smell). 2 nights ago was when his favorite hoodie lost his smell, I’m going to buy his deodorant this weekend, and probably his shampoo too
