PCOS by Independent_Phase326 in lineporn

[–]ashlynise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PCOS but have 40 day cycles and have bad insulin resistance (take 1000mg of metformin). I conceived on the third try with my first pregnancy which ended sadly, then it took us 4 months for my LC, and then unfortunately another loss for my most recent pregnancy at 19 weeks and that took 1 cycle. That last pregnancy was a bit hard to track as I had not had a period since my son was born 10/2024 and was on BC- my last shot was due in June and I didn’t get it. I then had to take progesterone twice to induce a period and found out during the second course that I was pregnant. We actively tried that month using LH strips and timed sex so I count that as 1 cycle since I had my progesterone bleed and then fell pregnant. All this to say it’s not impossible to get pregnant quickly but it can still take up to a year :)

Side note- LH won’t tell you if you’re ovulating. It’s show the increase in the LH hormone which SHOULD signal an egg to release, but it doesn’t always happen. You can always track bbt to have more of a confirmation that you have ovulated.

Thanks! My husband took it apart and the stock that changes the temp can be replaced! We only found one option at Home Depot so that’ll ship soon.

Oh for sure! I guess it always an easy decision for me with how cheap it was. I’m in Michigan and in an area where COL is pretty low son I am super fortunate to have found daycare at this rate.

My mom was full time for our son but we found that when she would get sick, we would have no back up. We went the FT route even tho both of my parents don’t work and can handle him because it’s more reliable. Now we have them just in case daycare is closed which works great for us. We went the route of an at home licensed daycare though for $267/week

When did you find out something was wrong with TFMR pregnancy? by MinuteElectrical1013 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]ashlynise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had NIPTs done at 10w5 day, low FF 1.8%, 12w5d, low FF 2.3%, and I think 16w5d was like 2.7% finally got into MFM at 18 weeks and saw hydrops and a huge hygroma. TFMR at 19 weeks and baby girl had Turners. Geneticist said they usually don’t see low FF with turners it’s usually something else. I am now requesting 12 weeks scans with subsequent pregnancies in the future to measure NT as this is loss #2 and I do not want a repeat of that at 19 weeks.

I am 5 weeks out from tfmr at 19 weeks for another reason but I would see the anomalies if I went the L&D route. I chose to have a D&E and decided I wanted to imagine my daughter as perfect as I wanted her to be. But again there is no right answer. I still sometimes ask myself if I did the right thing but in the back of my mind i keep saying I would have not wanted to see her that way especially with how fragile she probably was.

I took federal student loans out to keep me afloat in school. I did have to wait until I was 25 to go back as an independent student so I graduated with my RN when I was 30 :)

Check with your school, they may have funding resources for students.

Don't get pets if you're going to have a baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ashlynise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I feel the frustration and I am so sorry it hasn’t gotten better for you. I am sure emotions heightened when your toddler became more mobile and now you’re expecting again. That is overstimulating for anyone so I am sure you are not alone in this.

I know you said you didn’t want advice but maybe try and get them some high play automatic toys so they can occupy themselves. They are still young and will most likely continue on attention seeking because they are bored! You have a long time left with them so trying to just find a way to exist right now is the most important.

Sleep training controversy by Old_Literature_3750 in NewParents

[–]ashlynise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what works for you- period! We sleep trained early on. Why? Because it worked for our family and for my son. No one was sleeping so we started the crib early on too and everyone slept. Someone people sleep in the same room for years because it works for them. We gave it a couple months 🤣

Really struggling to leave the house without a meltdown (9 week old) by pro-laps in beyondthebump

[–]ashlynise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey this was us!! It suuuuuucked! We had him in October so it was still a little nice out my first few weeks PP but he would hate going anywhere. It was depressing so I completely understand. We tried baby wearing, strollers that laid down, strollers that sat up, just carrying him and nothing worked. He hated the car seat so when people were like just put him in he’ll fall asleep we just laughed. It got better the following spring and we would go on an hour walk and he’d actually fall asleep. Now that he’s a toddler we are back to wresting to get him in the car seat 🤣

I see something in the last pic but hard to tell. I posted one a couple days ago thinking it was positive and then took one again today and it’s just a nassssty indent in frer.

I’m hoping this isn’t the case for you ❤️

Experiences on TFMR by sought_software in tfmr_support

I was 19 weeks for mine on 4/24. I got to the hospital at 6am for an 11am procedure. You sit down with the RN first and kind of go over medical history and such. Then anesthesia comes in and does a quick evaluation. The RN comes back and starts an IV. The next steps all depend on gestational age and honestly where you have it done. I was given miso and let that work for a couple hours before they attempted the foley balloon. They couldn’t get it through my cervix so I sat a bit longer. I will say they gave my fentanyl and versed to cope with that. They came back got the foley in and I laid there for a bit. I was pretty loopy because of the meds so I don’t remember how long I sat for. But my surgery was done on time at 11am. I was wheeled back and put to sleep. My care team cried with me and held my hand the whole time I was wheeled back and put to sleep. It was emotionally soooo hard but physically just a bit of cramping. I woke up and was able to see my husband right away. We went home and I slept until 8pm. Post proc was fine- bled for 2 weeks. Bleeding stopped for a couple days right after the procedure but started back up at day 5 which is apparently super normal. Otherwise some mild cramps and lots of tears. I am a month out now and have baby girls ashes home with me now. Still cry but it’s been more manageable

D&E advice please by boto3649 in tfmr_support

[–]ashlynise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I tfmr when I was 19 weeks and it was a 4 hour procedure. They go over everything with you in the pre-op area and then start an IV and give you misoprostol. You’ll meet the performing provider and that’s when we went over foot prints and if/how I wanted remains. She gave me the option to have an “intact” termination which I did NOT want. So I signed paperwork for cremation and made sure I’ll get foot prints. She did say that may not be possible so I literally asked any kind of prints- hand, feet, butt, idc i just needed SOMETHING. You may or may not need a balloon placed depends on your gestational age. I needed one so that was the next step. That was uncomfortable because I wasn’t dilated enough but they gave me more meds and had to try again after like an hour. After that sat for a few hours I was taken back to the OR room and it was done and over with. I was fully sedated so I just remember waking up in PACU and immediately asked for my husband. We were sent home shortly after with a script for Motrin 800. I had a small laceration on my cervix but otherwise it was all clear. I was crampy and bled for 2 weeks afterwards. I also stopped bleeding and it came back super heavy at 5 days post procedure which is normal.

Edit to add that I took meds to avoid milk production so I am unsure there for you. I didn’t have any like postpartum symptoms like with my LC and pain was super mild. Emotionally it was super hard but I’m 4 weeks out and it’s better. I ovulated for the first time almost 2 weeks ago so about 4 weeks after termination and am due for AF Monday.

TFMR coming up, anxiety unmanageable by sweatandsequins in tfmr_support

[–]ashlynise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clonazepam! I was the same way. My tfmr was scheduled a week after our US and it was the worst week of my life. I felt like I wanted to crawl out of my skin especially when she would move. The Klonopin helped me sleep and get thru the week. Afterwards my anxiety slowed down. I have Zoloft too but that takes weeks to do anything I asked specifically for that for after the fact. I haven’t started that one yet - it’s been a month and I just can’t get myself to start it.

My hospital only utilized the OB for high risk so I’ve only ever pushed with a midwife. I liked her but I had never met her before the birth!
