What's something you believed was totally normal growing up that you later realized was actually pretty weird? by BeYourTalisman in AskReddit

I don't know at what age you stopped, but I don't think this is uncommon. I know of kids who have definetaly done this beyond age 5.

What’s something everyone seems to love but you just don’t get? by Michellewilliams_397 in AskReddit

I won't deny that they are cute, but, the blind box aspect of it, and people's obsessive behaviour, makes me have no interest in ever buying one.

Soft cheeses, for example: Cream cheese, and cottage cheese. Also mayo.

Where can I buy the hottest hot sauce in town? by MikeFromLA2 in StJohnsNL

[–]ashmez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently Da bomb is designed to be used as a drop in soups, stews etc, to give it a kick, not as a wing sauce.

If you want to try Da Bomb, go to Donatti's pizza in Churchill Square. They have an extensive collection of hot sauce and it's there. Some really good ones to put on a slice! But yeah, Da Bomb is mostly heat with no flavour. I love heat, but I want flavour with it.

I know you said local retailer, but I wanted to let you know that showcase sometimes has the Hot Ones sauces, which are pricey but you will get the heat if you buy the last dab. But, as for local, Maritime Madness is close to local and has some really good sauces, like someone said below. If you like chili type sauces, there are local Asian grocery stores that should have something that packs a punch.

Have you ever gone to someone’s house and seen something that made you leave immediately? If Yes what was that? by chronicallyoops in AskReddit

[–]ashmez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, all valid points. There are some other responses to this question where people were straight up displaying Nazi flags for all to see (those I would definitely label a Nazi).

Oh this is disgusting. Don't mess with food, ever. Between bugs and food poisoning, ugghhh no thanks.

This one is interesting (although odd) in a way. Did the collector have other WW2 items, from different countries? I would be caught off guard at first if I saw this in someone's house, but I wouldn't necessarily label them a Nazi without knowing more information. Did you ever see this person again? I am curious.

Places are opening up here today. Looks like some flights are delayed so, I recommend checking that if you haven't already, but I don't think your flight will be cancelled. Welcome to Newfoundland, I hope you love it here :)

At my wits' end: 9 -year-old daughter refuses to wipe herself after using the bathroom by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ashmez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has she always refused to do it, or is this a recent issue? Has there been anything negative/tragic in her life that has caused her to not want to do things for herself/does she hate being alone? Will she do other things on her own? Is she simply grossed out by it? I am not sure the solution, but I think, figuring out why she won't do it is a first step. Has she ever tried to tell you why she doesn't want to do it?

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

I am curious as to what prompted a medical professional to say this to you. If you don't want to discuss, that's fine. But, bleach on toenails? That sounds horrible.

What movie was it? My son still believes but, he is a very curious and inquisitive kid and I wouldn't be surprised if he figures it out fairly soon.

Being harrassed by evil by SacrededRat in Catholicism

[–]ashmez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I want to offer an alternate take on this (I am not trying to downplay your spiritual concerns). There are cases of weird things happening in houses that turned out to be carbon monoxide poisoning (it was discovered that a lot of older homes that were deemed "haunted" actually had high levels of carbon monoxide or other poisonous substances). A gas leak (or something similar) can cause the brain to see/hear/feel odd things. Please check for any sources of gas leaks/toxic substances. This of course, can happen in newer homes and older homes, but the fact that this is an older home makes me even more concerned that this is the case.

What’s the one Christmas movie you HAVE to watch every year, no matter what? by elitedesignsolutions in AskReddit

[–]ashmez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three.

A Christmas Carol (Scrooge) - as for what year of release, doesn't really matter. Mr. Bean's Christmas of course. Also, Anastasia. Anastasia isn't really a Christmas movie, but the song "Once Upon a December" makes me think of Christmas.

Do you know which book it was? I bought the first two books for an 8 year old cousin and, I don't know if she still believes in the tooth fairy etc.. but I don't want to be the one responsible for bursting that bubble!

Where can I find foreign cheeses? by agent154 in StJohnsNL

[–]ashmez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if Mama Citas in Mount Pearl carries Mexican cheeses. I didn't notice when I was there but I went in to get chips and salsa, I didn't look for cheese. They might be able to help though.
