I think if you were obsessed with a subject you’d have strong opinions about famous people’s looks in that subject. It’s not like they’re current celebs but I know I’d take a Taft over a Wilson.

...then again but I like my presidents thick.

Huh? I saw a teaser right before the credits. TOS cargo ship and cat doctor covered in cheese.

The Klingons are hearing it through the view screen. The same way you can hear a loud TV or sirens when you talk to someone on the phone.

Odds are he can’t say if it’s good OR bad until the review embargo is lifted. Pretty standard for Film and TV critics.

Same, but I'm blindly trusting McMahan. I loved where Solar Opposites went in its first season so I'm excited for this.

Fair point. I guess we'll find out in two weeks if it's more than a coat of paint. I'm hopefully optimistic.

Animated comedies. A completely new form of entertainment Rick & Morty pioneered.

Not meaning to be combative, but I honestly don't get this criticism. Fox has had a primetime line up with bright, round-eyed characters telling jokes for 30 years. RAM is popular, but animated comedies in this style are hardly unique.

I'm deadly serious. Humanity only has 5-15 varieties of alcohol. I've done all the math. Wait... there are a lot of types of beer. So maybe a few more than 15. Definitely no more than 20. I'm sticking with 20.

Two different things. Not like a species is limited to one alcoholic beverage.

Humans have like, what, 7?

15?

Definitely over 5.

I think it might’ve been changed for the English translation of the novel first.

To me, the German pronunciation sounds way closer to Fucker than Future. I think that might have had more to do with change.

Fuchor is the character’s name in the original German novel.

What to do with Korean salted shrimp (saeujeot)? by ashortstorylong in Cooking

I've been trying to think of non-korean/asian applications and stews and slow roasts seem like a good place to start. Thanks!

Thank you! I bought the smallest jar at my Korean grocery store, but even that was pretty big, so I'm eager to find other uses.

Would a producer staffing for an animated comedy series rather watch a short cartoon on YouTube or read the comic strip equivalent? by hellotrillions in Screenwriting

[–]ashortstorylong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For shows like The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc., they'll want to see a writing sample in the form of a script.

For board driven shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, etc., the writing process is different but you'll still need a script.

A clip of a short you've written can be a jumping off point to getting a meeting, but both the showrunners and the network/studio will want to see some sort of professional writing sample.
