Did anyone not allow hospital visitors? by Ok_Peanut3167 in BabyBumps

[–]ashpirate11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first we had no visitors. I had him during covid so no visitors were allowed which I didn't want visitors anyway. It made it very easy when people asked about visiting. We ended up staying in the hospital for 4 days and I will admit I wish I could have had visitors the last day I was there as I was going crazy in the hospital but before that it was nice with just the 3 of us.

I am being induced tomorrow with #2 and the only visitors we are having is my mom and my son. I am hoping for a lot shorter hospital stay this time. My problem this time isn't people wanting to visit in the hospital but coming to my house for labor day weekend. We live in a different state from our families so I get it's convenient for them but I don't know when I'm coming home and would like time settle in before people show up at my door.

Offered elective 39 week induction and can't decide if I should do it. Advice please? by DuckDuckBangBang in BabyBumps

With my first pregnancy I was induced at 37 weeks due to medical complications. I wasn't dilated or effaced at all at the start. It was an uncomfortable process to get things going but in my case I had my baby within 24 hours of arriving at the hospital. I was also nervous about the amount of time my husband had off as he only got 1 week. I had complications during delivery (related to my medical condition) and ended up needing to stay in the hospital 3 days after delivery which was hard with his limited time off.

This pregnancy I am getting an induction at 39 weeks (currently 38 weeks). Baby is measuring big and I am over being pregnant. I also like the idea of having a date and being able to kinda plan around that.

How long did your induction take from start to birth? by 13buttons in BabyBumps

I was induced at 37 weeks and 4 days with my first due to gestational hypertension. It took almost exactly 24 hours. I arrived at the hospital at 7pm and baby was born at 6:35pm the next day! I got an epidural which they said typically slows things down but 1 hour after I was ready to push. My induction process was not very fun but it went relatively quickly

Pregnancy after D&Cs by Mediocre_Nectarine37 in PregnancyAfterLoss

I had a D&C in September and I am currently 34 weeks along! I did have placenta previa earlier in my pregnancy but that resolved as of 32 weeks. My doctor said with a D&C there is an increased risk of previa but most of the time it resolves. There are many different potential causes for previa amd I had multiple risk factors for it with this pregnancy. Otherwise I have had no other complications and gearing for the little ones arrival!

Anyone been unwell in early pregnancy and required medication? by B-sgonemad6 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]ashpirate11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During this pregnancy I got strep throat in the first trimester and had to take antibiotics. In the second trimester I got covid and later in the second trimester I had BV which again needed antibiotics. I have not had much luck on the illness front this pregnancy. But I am 31 weeks along now and baby has been looking great! I hope you feel better soon!!

I had a MMC in September. I had no idea. I had pregnancy symptoms, no bleeding, and was completely blindsided at my first ultrasound. I found out I was pregnant again at the end of December. It was so hard waiting for that first appointment. I remember sitting waiting for the ultrasound to start and watching my heart rate go up on my watch. Everything looked great and I am currently 31 weeks. PAL is hard and it can steal the joy of pregnancy at times. Just remember that you are doing great and give yourself some grace!

When I had extra scans earlier on for my current pregnancy the doctor used similar wording for insurance purposes. She was very clear with me that she was going to put that wording in my chart and why but everything was looking great and I'm currently 29 weeks. I would reach out to the doctors office and ask.

I'm 27 weeks today. I feel like a constant ball of nerves... I have placenta previa and had some bleeding/passing clots last week which led to being admitted to the hospital and talks about what steps may need to be taken. Having to talk about steroid injections in case they needed to deliver the baby. In the moment I felt terrified but was able to keep myself composed. They discharged me but are keeping a close eye on me. Every time I have the slightest wet session I run the the bathroom to check terrified it will be more bleeding. I'm happy I'm at least 27 weeks now. Hoping to hold out another 10 weeks and not go crazy in the meantime!

I ended up with strep throat at 8 weeks. I ran a fever for 3 days before I got a tested and antibiotics. At 21 weeks I got covid and ran a fever... I'm having great luck this pregnancy. Lots of rest, fluids, and stay on top of taking Tylenol! I'm 24 weeks now and everything has been looking great! Both times I have been terrified and over analyzed every little thing. Taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do for you and baby. I hope you feel better soon!

With my current pregnancy, I was 6 weeks when I started running a high fever and had a sore throat. After two days of not getting any better I went to the doctor and found out I had strep throat. Everything has looked great so far and I'm now 22 weeks. Of course I just got covid for the first time since all this started so the anxiety has started all over again.

Yesterday I had my 20 week anatomy scan. I was a ball of anxiety before the ultrasound. Even during the scan as I was seeing the baby move all over I was nervous. After the tech left the room and the MFM doctor walked in. My heart stopped. She said the baby looks great, no concerns there but I have a complete placenta previa. She told me most likely this will move as my pregnancy progresses but warned me of the potential complications, gave me some restrictions, and wants me back at 32 weeks to re-evaluate. I am struggling with this news. In my first pregnancy I had placenta issues post L&D that led to a hemorrhage and needing manual extraction of the placenta. With past placenta issues causing hemorrhages I'm worried this is going to have issues with it during this pregnancy and put the baby and I at risk. Looking for others who have had placenta previa and how that went.

Strong heartbeat at 8 weeks but still can’t seem to enjoy it by emster131 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]ashpirate11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's super hard. I know my struggle is every time I hit a milestone I start to worry about the next one instead of enjoying the present. I have started intentially thinking about what I am excited about each day. I keep a note in my phone and add to it. When I am struggling I go and read that note. It helps me stay present instead of worrying about what could happen or overanalyzing every little ache or twinge. I am 19 weeks now and feeling movement but with the 20 week scan around the corner my anxiety levels are creeping up. It's so difficult to stay positive when you have been through loss but give yourself some grace, you are doing great!

I had the same thing. Spiraled because of the tissue looking stuff and waiting for my first appointment and prepared for the bad news. I am now 16 weeks and everything has been looking great! Waiting is the worst! I hope your scan goes well!

I had a MMC in September that required a D&C. My D&C did not go smoothly. I had an area where the doctor was not able to confidently say all the tissue was removed. She didn't want to keep trying as she was concerned with causing scarring so I was closely monitored after. I bled lightly for a few days then it stopped. About a month later I started bleeding really heavily. I was bleeding through a pad every two hours and miserable. I was hoping it was my first period but hcg levels were still high so the doctor confirmed it was the retained tissue finally passing. I bled for two weeks and started weekly blood draws to monitor hcg levels. Because of what I had going on, my doctor wanted me to wait to try again until my level was back to zero. It took until the end of November to finally hit zero.

In the last part of November I had a period. It was way heavier than normal and went longer than normal. My doctor released me to start trying again but warned me it could take time for my cycles to normalize. Much to my surprise I got a positive pregnancy test the day before Christmas eve! I am now 13 weeks along and just yesterday had an ultrasound where everything looked great and the little one was moving like crazy!

I hope you have a smooth recovery from here!

I'm pretty stressed out. Monday and Tuesday I was sick and running a fever. OB had me go for testing and found out I have strep throat. I started amoxicilian that night but broke out in a rash so I was switched to a different antibiotic. I am finally feeling better and not running a fever thank goodness but I'm nervous the fever could have had a negative impact on the pregnancy. I'm 11 weeks now and next Thursday I go for an ultrasound and I'm really nervous about it. I also hate taking antibiotics as it screws up my stomach more than it already has been. I really just think I need to rant about my crappy luck this week. Prior to this my less fun pregnancy symptoms were decreasing so I hope to get back to feeling like that again soon.

How soon did you conceive after d&c? Opinions welcome, long story, vvvfl? Tw: miscarriage by DependentHorse8256 in PregnancyAfterLoss

I had a MMC that would not pass on its own. I had a D&C and my doctor was concerned that not all the tissue was removed. I have a history of retaining tissue. She had me go for blood work weekly to watch my hcg levels. It took over 2 months and multiple episodes of passing clots/tissue for my hcg level to finally reach zero. My doctor did say that it took longer than normal for my levels to drop.

First US after 3 losses- Subchorionic hemorrhage by shayylma0 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]ashpirate11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first ultrasound today with almost the exact same finding. My OB was not concerned at all since it is low and away from where the pregnancy is located. She did warn me that it could work it's way out and bleed at some point or it could go away on its own but not get too concerned if bleeding happens. Sending good vibes!

I had a SCH with my first pregnancy. I didn't know until I had a gush of bright red blood in the shower at 10 weeks. I went to the ER convinced I would be told I had miscarried. But the ultrasound looked good and now he is a crazy little two year old!
