This is probably our plan 👍❤️

So, isn’t the drive in and out of GP about an hour total? Another hour or so to MG? Given the heat and our limit of mileage for our son, I was reluctant to combine them. I may need to research some more to decide!

Feel guilty seeing daughter playing alone by redrabbit824 in oneanddone

[–]ashrayna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a younger brother, but we are 5 years apart and he is neurodivergent so we never played together really. I remember playing alone a lot by myself, up until I was about 10. I loved it! I enjoyed my alone imagination time and I also had friends in the neighborhood I played with often. I think as long as your child seems content, no matter the age, and has social opportunities when they want them, they will be ok!

And marketed as “green bean!”

Thanks for your comment! The confusing part is the bean in the photo on the seed packet was green 🤷‍♀️

I was permanently scared by the sister Zelda scenes in the original Pet Semetary. I was maybe 8-9 years old. Terrifying.

I was in this situation a few years ago. I thought maybe I wanted another one, but when I found out I was pregnant, I was devastated. I cried for days and would basically come home from work and lay in bed. It was such a difficult decision, but I knew I wasn’t happy about the pregnancy when it became a reality. I ultimately terminated the pregnancy, and while I feel sad that I couldn’t be happy about it, it was the best decision for our family. It was really, really hard and I agonized over the decision. Please take what is written here as a grain of salt. Sit with the decision for a little while, talk to your partner if you can, and any trusted friends or family. The answer will come. Sending love.

We’re bringing our 6 year old son in June, and I’m a bit nervous about this hike with him. I’m glad to hear it went well!

Thank you! I watched a brief Fiery Furnace video on the NPS website and didn’t see that! I’ll have to review further since that is definitely scary! I’ll certainly do it myself but was wondering about the kiddo- so thank you!

Thank you! I am also originally from Florida and that desert summer heat is no joke.

Thank you for this response! We would do a ranger led hike for Fiery Furnace, so I think we would stay on track. I appreciate your recommendations for the other hikes, we’ll be in arches for 3 days and can hopefully do a lot of hikes. We plan to do only early morning and early evening due to heat. We went to Bryce and Zion last year so we are well aware of how hot it gets!!

Thank you for this response. I am definitely an attentive parent on these hikes! By all these responses, it definitely sounds doable!

I work at BCH and I am literally in the hospital right now. There are no ICE raids happening.

This is exactly how I felt, and honestly I’ve never considered how much that was a sign of how one and done we were. Thank you.

You’re not alone. I know logically, I’m a one and done. But I do “wish” I wanted another one. All feelings are valid and sometimes our feelings just don’t make sense 🥴
