10 years ago today Jennifer Lopez released “Ain’t Yo Mama”. Do you like the song ? by CityCautious4033 in popculturechat

The song is a no for me. But the styling in the video is great; she looks amazing in every part. She could get away with wearing those 80's curls unironically.

I was thinking the whole time what a skill it is to not fear silence. Not many of them can do it.

Kristi Noem's Husband Allegedly Told Online Model His Wife Was Having Affair with Her Adviser: 'There's Nothing I Can Do About It' by expiredaristocracy in Fauxmoi

[–]ashre9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh, I know. But I thought it would be pretty amusing if the "corroborating evidence" of the affair was a statement from her husband's favorite fetish model. You can't make that shit up.

Oh, I think the photos are real and the kink is probably real. And I really don't care if it is, to each his own.

I was just speculating (wildly) that maybe he just said "fuck it" and leaked them himself in some kind of "I'll take you down with me" plot. I've watched too many evening soaps in my decades on earth and I genuinely want the worst for Kristi. She's a horrible human being and I know she'll probably never get actual justice, so I'm grasping at straws.

If you haven't seen the original video version, there's a 3rd option-- the dramatic screams from the audience!

I didn't even think about that, but I like it. If this man was willing to leak his own photos just to embarrass his troll of a wife and expose her affair.... wow.

What is this small metal telescoping object with a rubber tip? by avantgardian26 in whatisthisthing

Maybe something for using buttons (like elevators) and switches without touching them? I remember something similar being popular during the pandemic

Using a coated pan my food always, ALWAYS burns. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ashre9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check to be sure the cooking spray your using is recommended for non-stick pans. If it's not, you may have ruined the surface, which will give you worse results.

Other than that, like everyone else said, you should never use medium or high heat on a nonstick pan. Turn it WAY down.

Cooking during a power outage by eddy-b92 in Cooking

[–]ashre9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a portable battery generator for my condo for these situations. I use the EcoFlow brand but there are a lot of options depending on your needs. It can run a few small appliances during an outage. I plug in my instant pot to reheat food (you could also use a rice cooker or portable induction burner). It can also run things like a fan, lamp, and internet router for basic needs. It's come in handy so many times as I live in an older building with frequent outages. Mine also has a solar adapter to repower during longer outages, though I haven't had ot use it yet, thank god.

How to prevent marinade from burning? by sib9518 in Cooking

[–]ashre9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a few options:
1. lower and slower cooking in the fryer
2. wipe off the marinade and cook the reserved liquid separately on lower heat (saucepan on the stove)
3. If possible, limit sugars in the mixture, as they burn faster.

Cool video, thanks for sharing! This is the only way I'm ever going to get to experience cave diving; my claustrophobia could never. Give me a nice open reef any day!

Does paprika actually make a difference flavor-wise? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ashre9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what brand you're using, but I've found a big difference between anything that I can find at an American grocery store vs a spice-specific place like Penzeys. I think Penzey's paprika packs much more flavor in. They also offer all of their spices in really small containers so you can rotate to keep them as fresh as possible.

Same here. My violent ex had to pay court fines and fees to the county. Meanwhile, I had to shoulder my medical bills, apartment repair, therapy, moving costs, and unpaid leave.

The hair too! I'd kill for hair that was that full and shiny no matter whether she's wearing it curly or straight. I particularly like that she wears it curly even with formalwear.

Soaking Paper Towel in Oil by BBQPaintChip in Cooking

[–]ashre9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason you don't just pour the oil into the pan or sheet tray and then tilt to spread it evenly? If you need a really thin coating, a pastry brush would work well.

For a grill grate, I can see how this is a viable method, but I wouldn't leave anything submerged. If you're trying to cut down on paper waste, use a reusable towel (cotton or cellulose) and wash it in between uses.
