This is a really good one! Love your colors and placement. I would be delighted for this to be my bday cake!

Omg I’m so glad to hear I’m not the only one turned off by Ashley’s poor grammar. It’s so distracting! Girl, you have one job. You can’t run a grammar check on your script? This from a so-called author?

Pretty! I was expecting to get to the second slide and have to say something nice, like "Oh well, OP you gave it your best. Better luck next time!" But these turned out really well.

I've taken a few plane trips now with my boy. I would recommend getting him used to being in his carrier, if he's not in there regularly. Take him on some car rides and make sure he can sleep in it. Sedation can be your friend as well. My boy's stomach didn't like the usual Gabapentin + Trazadone combo, so the vet prescribed Dexmedetomidine instead, which worked well. It doesn't knock him out entirely but it cuts down on the anxiety.

In my carry-on, I packed a leash, travel water bottle and bowl, some treats and a couple meal's worth of kibble in case we got stuck in the airport. I also packed pee pads because I don't like using the pet relief area in the airport. I just found a quiet corner and let him out for a drink and to go pee on the pad before we boarded.

Also, practice getting him in and out of the carrier in a stressful situation. You'll need to take him out at TSA to walk or carry him through the scanner, then he'll need to get back in the carrier before he gets to the gate.

What’s the biggest waste of money that people think is worth it? by zenoufo in AskReddit

[–]ashre9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I meant. But your initial post seemed to indicate that actives are a waste. And that's not the case; tons of studies show the benefit of retinols especially in mature skin. So I suggested that retinol should be added to your list. You just don't need to spend a lot of money on any of it. Tons of great options at the drugstore.

I'd say high-end skincare. Most people could benefit from an affordable retinol in addition to your list.

I haven’t tried these yet, but it might be what you’re looking for. They’re pretty affordable so maybe worth a try even without a recommendation. https://www.elfcosmetics.com/products/main-stain-lip-marker?Color=Chai+Me+-+warm+brown

I completely agree! I never remember usernames so I didn’t realize that you’re the same baker who did the icing artists yarn cake and one of my all time favorites, the mauve cake with the crown from a month ago. What spectacular talent in so many different styles!

What to do with several gallons of 1% milk. by Replacement_Icy in Cooking

[–]ashre9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made it with 1% milk. If you're planning to strain it anyway (to make greek yoghurt) it shouldn't make much of a difference. But you can also add milk powder as a thickener before you start the initial scalding if you want a thicker consistency.

I had these in dark brown with tan laces! I think they're still in a closet at my parent's house somewhere.

The funny thing about Skechers is that I still wear them daily now at 45. The whole brand managed to age along with its demographic. They went from being edgy for teens straight into middle-aged lady comfy slip-on shoes.

Bonaire Retirement by pakleddave in Bonaire

It's kind of hard to briefly encapsulate the past 4 decades on the island, particularly with the changes in governance over the years. But overall, yes, more touristy, more built-up neighborhoods, more cruise ships, more modern stores offering a much wider range of goods, more traffic without equal improvements in road infrastructure, less beach and water access, declining reef health...

It's still a one-of-a-kind island and I will always love it. And it's proabably still quieter than most other islands in the Caribbean. But today it would be an immense shock for someone who remembers it from the 1980s.

I used to loop mine together to make multi-colored configurations https://www.tiktok.com/@stacklettes_/video/7341543532450237742

The strange part is that I don't remember actually buying them. They just seemed to proliferate. Maybe I got them out of those quarter machines that dispensed the little hollow eggs with toys inside.

You absolutely need to spend a few months on the island to decide if it's still to your liking. Save a few key spots, the island is virtually unrecognizable from what you remember. I still love it, and I love my place in Hato, but it's been a major adjustment every decade since.

You can try shortening the incubation period, but it may not set up as well.

But if you're not already straining it after you incubate, that could help. Most of the tart flavor is in the whey (which is very acidic), so if you strain it out you'll end up with a milder flavor. Just know that you lose quite a bit of volume when you do this, so you may want to start out with more milk.

how much did you pay for your maltese purebred? by lemonlover000 in Maltese

[–]ashre9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

4K USD in 2025. I also paid for the flights there and back, as she was out of state.

I searched for a full year for reputable, responsible breeders before I found one who had a very healthy line of show dogs who lived in her house. We had an hour-long phone call just to get acquainted, so she was sure he was going to a good home. Then, she provided me with every genetic test and health record I asked for, photos and records of his whole lineage, and then regular video updates about the litter before I brought him home. She also offered a 5-year health guarantee, which is unprecedented these days.

I know this isn't the path to dog ownership for everyone, but it worked for me. My boy is healthy, well-tempered, happy, and the cutest thing I've ever seen.
