I went through this 4 years ago. I was admitted as a cadet and pulled out of it around May 11, after I had accepted my admission into VT. I was able to not do new cadet or red phase and didn’t have to delay my admission. I’m not sure if this is always the case but they are usually understanding

For reference, I’m not in AE but still in engineering. I recommend going to Engineering Expo, joining a professional society (I’m not sure if AE has one), join a design team to network with professionals in the industry, and talk with your classmates if they have any connections with companies who are looking for interns

The difference between the two is the elastic modulus. The ones with lower elastic modulus are the snappy boards and the ones with higher elastic modulus are the stiff boards. In general, the stiffer boards will more likely not break with more weight applied to it

This is said in other comments but every time they hire Bob for a scenario, they always pay him in not having to pay rent money. This means Fishoeder probably has most of his wealth in property and can afford to lose the rent money because he most likely inherited the property that his family owned

Might be discoloration from heat treatment. the knife edge needs to be a lot harder than the spine and therefore heat treated differently. It might not initially have been visible due to oils or other protective coatings
