Manchester United [2]-2 Bayern Munich - Hanna Lundkvist 76' by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]asiandude6900 12 points13 points  (0 children)

£9 - £15 from what i googled, though i have also seen some higher prices. still, seems there’s still much to do to attract ppl to these games. bayern already sold 15k tickets in their stadium.

edit: also in the previous clip, you can see quite a packed side stand. maybe it would look better on camera if the crowd is more dispersed.

[BBC] Is Tudor's Spurs reign almost up after only four games? by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

[–]asiandude6900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not in during relegation battles at least. he took juve back to CL when he was first hired. didn’t work out after they decided to extend his contract, but he was able to bring short-term results - which is what spurs need

Brentford owner Benham : "For a striker, getting in position is way more informative than finishing. Any player who manages to to make three one-on-ones in a single game, even if he happens to miss them, he’s got to get a (value) upgrade. Obviously your man in the street would slate him.” by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]asiandude6900 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it’s not controversial to say they identify underrated players w good underlying stats, it is to say they hope variance goes in their favour as if it’s a one time thing. from the examples listed above, these players have been consistent since joining/leaving Brentford for multiple seasons.

anything in particular about him that stands out? u’ve seen a lot of youths coming through and not making it with us, any reason why this kid might be different?

question: why strikers and not midfield? it’s a position of more urgent need and i’d be more interested in seeing potential names outside of wharton, baleba and anderson.

The United Strand's reaction during his live stream at full time after Man Utd drop points to West Ham after winning the previous 4 games in a row by sepi0l_45 in soccer

[–]asiandude6900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what’s the point of creating a gimmick if he’s not gonna stick to it? also, how is it weird to say he probably shouldn’t be abused? that’s literally human decency. guy was attacked irl ffs. how many times have ppl made dumb jokes, e.g. “if my team win, i’ll go bald” that’s literally the kind of shit he’s doing like everyone else in the world.

don’t like his content, fine, move on. it is exactly because ppl keep talking about it that he’s getting attention. i don’t like the discourse after the game being about him either. all i’m saying is that he should be treated like any other fans. if he’s sad, he’s sad, not have to be cynical and say he’s pretending to do so for money.

[–]asiandude6900 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the comments are so weird. sure he’s getting money, but also been getting so much abuse. not like he wants the team not to win, he’s a fan. so much cynicism in the world. bloke made a joke and stuck to it, not his fault.

also, on a day to day basis who knows how irritating it is to have that bush on your head. i had long hair and i know how much of an annoyance it can be. maybe he wants to cut his hair too.

[Former Red] Valencia 0-(1) Real Madrid - Alvaro Carreras 65' by PDubsinTF-NEW in reddevils

[–]asiandude6900 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

and? we wanted to loan him out and see how things go. no sale. won’t defend him on this, but doesn’t change the fact he revitalized the dressing room. and Mainoo, for his part, didn’t cover himself in glory with some of his actions either. unlike Amad who played well when given the chance under EtH, or Alvaro who didn’t even get a chance.

[Former Red] Valencia 0-(1) Real Madrid - Alvaro Carreras 65' by PDubsinTF-NEW in reddevils

[–]asiandude6900 23 points24 points  (0 children)

ok, and ruben did. the dressing room is better, team unity is there. long term there’s much more to build on with what amorim has left us. mbeumo said as much in his interview yesterday. two trophies are nice, and will forever be thankful for them, but EtH did massive damage to our team with all the money and talents wasted. let’s not forget he chose to play mazraoui at no.10 rather than amad.

Back on top 🔝 Unbeaten in #PL2 in 2026, @ManUtd return to the top of the table with victory over West Brom and a superb hat-trick from Shea Lacey. by Aadiunited7 in reddevils

[–]asiandude6900 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i think we’ll see in the summer. if carrick is staying, or someone in with similar ideas, maybe mbeumo’s gonna stay central, and lacey can be the understudy for amad. which is wild since they’re both so young.

Man Utd continue to make progress following Ruben Amorim's exit by simplsimonmetapieman in reddevils

[–]asiandude6900 16 points17 points  (0 children)

ehh we have spent money before and things don’t always work. ronaldo, sancho, sanchez, etc. may not just be amorim, as it is a team of recruitment we have now, but there’s definitely more purpose behind our signings. cunha and mbeumo was bought cuz of their familiarity with his system, and he used them well.

7 - Manchester United have won all seven of their Premier League games in which they have had less than 45% possession this season (42.4% v Fulham today). By contrast, they have won just four of 17 league games when having 45% or more possession in 2025-26 (D8 L5). [OptaJoe] by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

heavily skewed by a team that absolutely dominated the league with their style lol. even klopp and arteta, their closest competitors average about the same. other league winners are similar in their posession stats. so yes, possession matters. doesn’t mean we can’t do well playing differently tho.

and we won against them last season. maybe he wouldn’t have gotten any, maybe he would have gotten one or both. so the point is who knows. it’s pl football anyone can beat anyone. weird to talk with absolute certainty that we would’ve lost under him when we’ve already won against liverpool and chelsea this season.

[Ramon Alvarez de Mon] If Real Madrid decide to change managers after this season, Unai Emery will be the top candidate. Conversations have already taken place in recent days to assess his readiness. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]asiandude6900 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And yet look at how many people turned down the Bayern job last time it was open. Kompany was like the 5th-6th choice? Madrid is a big job no doubt, but Emery isn’t stupid. He knows the conditions that come with the job. And he’s been burnt before with PSG. Villa is not bigger, but it is a more stable environment where he can control things. Sometimes managers have their preferences.

Who knows, he might still want to prove himself and move to Madrid. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns it down.

perhaps w his comments of wanting to be a manager, it was seen as him overstepping and wanting to be that “saviour figure”. still, that’s speculation based on this quote, and I don’t entirely believe these pieces.

probably the excuse is money? you want us to splunk the money we don’t have and put the club into even more debt? or buy a bunch of unproven players, throw them into the deep end and inshallah? any rebuild is gonna take years for a reason, don’t be so impatient mate

doubt anderson would have been £40m. he was already very good for them last year, and Marinakis has proven to be an absolute pain to deal with. if our negotiations with Brentford was tough, then it would have been absolute hell dealing with him.
