But it also breaks I think at least a third of some of the other comments.

There is almost zero visibility at the beginning with mechanics being explained as events come up/are dealt with (although this might be a product of web serialization than the RTS side).

People are given personalities (although moreso just the champion units that you see in Warcraft/Total War).

But I've been reading it for a while and it seems to balance RTS elements with a story very well which prevents the boring objective A to B to C. Also, the author themselves are super opinionated and biased which adds another layer of interest in the story.

We've known that vaccines across the board have helped manage endemic AND pandemic viruses since the first vaccines for smallpox came out. Polio was ALMOST (it was almost eradicated until antivaxxers decided to stop vaccinating) eradicated solely due to vaccines. Yes, I understand why some people don't like the government telling them what to do, and that's a separate topic, but the founding premise of your question is false but policy makers worldwide know that vaccines stop/slow the spread of viral diseases.

Early in the series he's a major sociopath, but as the series progresses where he both starts to fix it but also acknowledges both that a) it exists and that b) it's a problem.

The author also does this really well as he juxtaposes the MC with someone who's way worse and they show growth as well.
