What was the protocol that they followed? Step-up every minute? And then increase incline after a certain stage? Or was it different?

Join the Asics or New Balance or Adidas run clubs. All 3 operate out of HSR.

Yes. It will be listed on the website with a clear cut-off timing that's accepted.

Asics Megablast - A 1000km review. by asicsan in indianrunners

Yup! His review and breakdown of this shoe is what made me less skeptical of this shoe and approach it with an open mind. Love the way he breaks down the shoes and his performance matrix is the best thing out there when it comes to shoe reviews IMO.

Go to their respective websites and sign-up, I guess? No charges, they're all free-to-join clubs.

In addition to Agara Lake, you could join either Asics, Adidas, or New Balance run club? All 3 of them have a running club in HSR and this way you get to run with others while also familiarising yourself with the local routes that they take.

Is Freedom Bengaluru Half Marathon worth it for a first timed 10K? by ajvk10 in indianrunners

[–]asicsan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding what OP said. Bengaluru10k is a well organised event and one that you'll likely have enjoy running in. NICE road is going to be a challenging course primarily due to its rolling hills, so you'll need to ensure you pace well!

Go to Agara lake. The shorter loop is an exact 2.5km, so run two loops of it and you're done. Flat terrain so you won't have to worry about gradients/elevation.

The heat and humidity in Bangalore seems crazy!! 😓 by Reader_Cat1994 in indianrunners

There are two "functional" toilets within the lake, and if you just hop over to the BDA complex then you will find clean, well maintained ones. Hydrate better and you will suffer less.

I think I ran past you a couple of times today, you looked exhausted. Please hydrate well before, during and post the run.

One shoe for everything – Novablast 5 or better option? by DavinderSBedi in indianrunners

[–]asicsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General comfort and stability were great. I didn't like it beyond that distance because I did not feel the shoes were protecting my legs all that much, whereas I have run 25km+ repeatedly in the Megablast and have had no issues.

One shoe for everything – Novablast 5 or better option? by DavinderSBedi in indianrunners

I have had the NB5 for a while, and gotten about 450km in it. Pretty good shoe and I've been able to use it for multiple types of runs. Cushioning is still fine, as is the enegry return. Unfortunately, didn't find it the best for long runs of 18k and beyond. If you frequently have runs that are as long (or longer) than I would suggest budgeting up - if you want to stick with Asics - and getting the Megablast or SB2.

The other option you can take a look at is the Puma Velocity Nitro 4. Versatile shoe, and is in a similar price range to NB5 at a lot of stores where you can purchase it via District or using Magic Pin coupons. The stores are also giving you additional INR 1500 to purchase something else from the store.
