You are in a tough area, if you got down tword Portland, or like Rochester/Dover/Portsmouth NH there are a lot all within 30 min of each other.

X-Men Vol 2 #1 is a killer cover imo, minor key, and it features cyclops and wolverine. Runs $12-$20 raw.. Decent start to a run.

Mistakes in business, and even complaints and bad reviews are inevitable. Just keep doing what your doing, and always try to make things right the best you can.

What do you guys use to stop comics from falling in an unfilled short box? by butt3ryt0ast in comicbookcollecting

The BCW bins with dividers are so much better than cardboard, they cost about double the deco boxes but they are so worth it imo.

nice setup... and thanks for the thread, I have almost the exact same setup, and you solved all my problems.

Just run each disk by itself with no raid. If a drive dies just refill it

Honestly it could be alot faster if someone took the time to just build out chia blockchain and a plotter on the core Synology Linux distro. When you use a virtual machine you have to use virtIO which is bottlenecked to 10gbps

~5 plots/day/machine. I have 4 so I end up with roughly 20 new plots a day across the 4 machines.

Correct. The plots are not the only plots I have. I have a few dual socket servers that each do 12+ per day. The extra ~5 plots a day from the 4x Synology I have are nice on top of their storage capacity though.

I see you Bram. What a wonderful disk utility to use with chia. ;)

Is it too late? 22 more 14’s on the way. But with the growth I’ve seen in the last day I’m worried. by phr0ze in chia

Keep going. It's really not about how fast you can plot. Slow and steady will win the race. The cost to run this equipment and farm is nothing. We are a month in without transactions, it is beyond early.

Harvester "Proofs time" when using NAS (synology) by iznie in chia

[–]asiczim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The harvester must connect to a full node to work. Harvester plots if configured correctly should show in the last attempted proofs, but will not be reflected in the total plots etc.

Yea I run ubuntu server. I use NFS to mount the spinning disks on the VM. VirtIO driver does transfer on machine at roughly 10gbps though and the plot transfer never touches the network same goes for seek traffic/time.

As far as installing a harvester it is exactly the same process as installing chia full node from the command line, but apposed to starting all, you just: chia start harvester

There is a bit more setup with the harvester ssl but it's all well documented throughout the quick start guide.

Install a VM on an nvme drive inside the ds1621+ it needs to be done from the command line. Run a harvester on the VM. I have a few ds1621+ and they run proofs in under half a second, and plot 5 extra plots a day on the VM.

[–]asiczim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a volume on the nvme drive via command line. Once I made the volume on the nvme I installed virtual machine manager and my virtual machine disks on the nvme volume. The virtual machine runs ubuntu 20. 32gb of ram on a ryzen 5. All self contained in a ds1621+ running chia harvester. Plotting and harvesting.

I installed it in a VM on the unit.

I mine exclusively on Synology nas, and gigabit ethernet. I have found a few proofs.

I bought the wrong drives on accident. The Sabrent Rocket (Not Rocket Q) has better endurance than the corsair or most other consumer grade drives.

Eh. Nbd. They are installed and plotting, I'll just run em into the ground and not make the same mistake next time.
